1. yeah I'm finding that cab to be way louder onstage than anything else I've played through, love it!
2.
And of course, the partnership and all its members should be submitting an annual tax return.
Oh wait...
3. When I bought my Deluxe Jazz I went in looking for the cheapest decent sounding bass I could find for a studio session the next day, played a few and decided on a Precision in Blizzard Pearl (is that right?). Just because it was there, decided to have a play on the Delixe Jazz while I was waiting. It was 100% better quality, sound and feel to the Standard, had to have it. They had two in, I played both and they were the same, better than all the other MIMs in there, build quality was as I'd expect in US versions, and you could tell the difference in materials, right down to the grain in the neck maple. Highly recommended, I'm never selling mine, might upgrade the preamp one day, but never selling.
4. When I was in a touring band with either old Peavey or Ampeg cabs, I had no problem letting people use them, and appreciated being able to use other people's so we could travel in one car. But since I got a GK Neo and now TecAmp S212, I drive myself to every gig and no one uses my gear but me, too expensive to replace. I understand the transport or turnaround reasons, and tha's fine, but if you don't own a giggable amp you shouldn't be gigging.
5. I think if I had a spare £450 I'd have this regardless of the fact I have no need for the fifth string!
6.
Maple for looks. Rosewood for playing. Rosewood it is then.
+1
7. My TecAmp 212 gives me all the lowend I need, maybe try trading the 10 for a 12?
8. Endsleigh quoted me £35 for the year, think I'll be going with that!
9. I'm working in Finland that week, but I'll definitely check it out the following weekend, Reverb and PMT are the wrong side of Birmingham for me, this will be perfect!
10. Also if you play a gig with a cab supplied, you just have to take your amp! Plus, if either the head or cab breaks, you only have to replace that part, rather than the whole thing. That combo is ok, I use it at my practice room, does the job but I never get a tone I'm happy with out of it and both have failed at some point.
11. I've got a case exactly the same as this, but branded JustInCase rather than Freestyle, had it about 10years I think and never seen another until now!
12. Is it just me, or is that Fender not a Fender? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FENDER-SUNBURST-PREC...d#ht_674wt_1165
13. That looks fantastic, if I had any need for a fifth string, this is the bass I'd want!!
14. Thomann ship to Norway, but you'd be subject to customs charges: http://www.thomann.de/gb/helpdesk_shipping.html I've bought cabs from there in the past though and shipping is very cheap.
15. And still £70 for a student ticket!?
16. I never tried an RBH, but my old Neo212 (now owned by Josh) gave me way more volume on stage than anything else I'd played, and a crisp, clear tone. Can't go wrong with them in my opinion!
17. Flea, Timmy C and Duff were the reason I picked up a bass in the first place. None of them have any real influence on my style anymore, but I learnt from playing their songs.
In terms of inspirational bass players, Mic Todd from Coheed and Cambria is definietely one. As for others, they change in order of what music I'm currently listening to.
+1 for modern players that keep me inspired!
18. An SR300 was my first bass in 1998, great basses, and the new ones look even better. I'd definitely consider another if I could spare the cash!
19. My first gig rig was Trace Elliot AH300, Peavey 4x10 and 1x15, which I got for the bargain price of £300
20. That's exactly why I love the Spector shape, fits over my beer belly! But as far as I know, the only contoured Les Paul is the Ultra six string.
21. If it was SRX rather than ATK might have been the SRX08LTD?
22. I want it
23.
Plenty of people will tell you that the bent tin bridge does exactly the same job as a Badass (or any other aftermarket upgrade) & if it was good enough for Uncle Leo then we have nothing to moan about. They might have a point.
Try telling that to Traben!
24. The headstock alone would stop me from buying one.
25. Agreed. I get a better core tone out of my Jazz, but I pretty much only play my Spector now, because the neck and body are more comfortable. They're both active, and I get a tone I'm happy with from both basses through my Tecamp. Although saying that, the best tone I had recently was a gig where I didn't take my amp and left it entirely up to the soundman!
