1. I love the look of that Jet bass, I'm very tempted by the Electromatic version, it'd fit the look of my band so well.
2. Sorry, didn't see this, managed to avoid my laptop for the whole of Christmas! Yes, the tuner is still available. Cab now on ebay: SWR Triad
3. Poor phone photo, but here's my nice light-n-loud rig these days:
4. Only the James Johnstone version I think
5. This looks awesome. If only it wasn't Christmas and I wasn't skint! Here's hoping the future buyer doesn't get on with short scales and decides to sell it in six months when I can afford it!
6. You could always go for this 'Bonsai Jazz'... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1978-FENDER-BONSAI-J...=item1c0e9e70bf
7. Bargain of the year!!
8. That's right. Volume is just cut.
9.
Isn't the Fender Steve Bailey sig bass a 6er? I think it's fretless too.
Very different to a Fender VI though. Always wanted one, and I think it would suit my band really well, but I'd never be able to afford one. May look into those Gretsch Jet Baritones in the new year though.
10. want want want want want damn Christmas... I did a bit of research of these a while back when I was after a Fender VI (but would NEVER be able to afford one), seemed ideal for what I wanted.
11. Got the one with the Biffy download thing (were Biffy on the cover? can't remember). Think that was a November issue?
12. I had the old narrower one, amazing cab, lightweight and crisp, clear sound. Loved it!
13. If it was me, I'd be after a Spector Euro!
14. Another deal done with no problems - quick payment and good communication, cheers Tom!
15. I've had two Legends and a Q4, wish I'd never have sold the first one as it was perfect, but I was only thrashing punk out on Fenders at the time so it never got played. My current Legend's neck isn't 100% smooth on the back, but in terms of playability, comfort and tone, Spectors are the best basses I've ever played. I'm gassing for a Euro.
16. Last bump for the cab!
17. Sh*t! Sorry people, this is still sat at home, completely forgot about it after a few weeks working away - will be posted this week!!!
18. Out of those two, the Hartke. That GK head is from their budget range, you'd be much better off with one of the RB heads if you were going for GK (which I'd highly recommend!). The LH500 gets good reviews around here, and I've been happy with the 3500 when I've used that in the past.

Tecamp

Used my Puma 250 and S212 at a gig for the first time last weekend, no volume problems, only turned up slightly more than I do at practice, wasn't getting anything back from the monitors and I could hear myself better than I have in a long time!! Very happy with it!!
20. I've used Clayton before, got the yellow Dunlop's I usually use, with my band logo on, will be getting more soon.
21.
If you were nearer I'd have it. Sure you can't pack it? I'll organise the courier.
ahh go on then! I haven't got anything to pack it in, but I'm sure I can visit a music shop at the weekend and get a bass box. I've got a whole roll of bubble wrap I can use.
22. Going on ebay tonight, any last minute takers?
23.
Jason Black is amazing. However HWM went right down the toilet after 'A flight and A crash' (the basement at Leeds for that tour was one of my favourite gigs ever). And i've not listened to the Draft, so don't know if he's pulling the same tricks? side note HWM don't fit on this thread at all IMHO. much more than 'punk revival' trash.
Really? Caution is my favourite album, and The New What Next has got some great tracks on. The Draft do just sound like HWM without Chuck Ragan, and maybe with less of an edge. Not too much difference between The New What Next and A Million Pieces anyway. But no, they don't fit into that catagory, but Black was an influence on me when I was playing that kind of punk.
24. Loved playing in my two old punk bands (I say old, we're talking 2001-2007), but don't get to play any anymore Dan Andriano and Jason Black were big influences on me, and more recently Joe Principe from Rise Against.
25. It does the job... but I wouldn't use it as a backup for anything, I'd want something reliable for that job!
