1. +2. I bought a bass Pandora pretty cheaply on ebay, plug the iPod in and away I go.
2. Pretty Little Ditty If You Want Me To Stay Walkabout
3. Good small venues I've played that would suit you... Wolverhampton Little Civic (closed down last week, but I believe they have a replacement in the main Civic now) Birmingham Academy 3 (moving in September though, not sure how the new place is set up) Birmingham Barfly Bedford Esquires Dudley JBs Stoke Sugarmill York Fibbers Plenty more but that's all I can remember off the top of my head, played some good places in Liverpool and Bristol but no idea what they were called! All of the Barfly and Academy venues are a good place to start though if you're asking for support slots.
4.
Paul Gray (1972)
Slipknot? January 23: Curis Counce (1926); Bill Cunningham (1950) and Nicholas Harmer (1975) (Death Cab For Cutie?) for me.
5. For some nice melodic punk bass try Hot Water Music, Jason Black is an awesome player: http://open.spotify.com/track/1JUsg5WknC6aPvVIfEHsFi http://open.spotify.com/track/14W7ArAdPRypIiF8YEaRHJ http://open.spotify.com/track/1HiFhLbKwjl9VYqPxrkzRj http://open.spotify.com/track/0d4FEGMSVJZwR5eNBdPBFi http://open.spotify.com/track/4k939NhFUcdD9kNK8l5UkZ http://open.spotify.com/track/1ufEJiL3sP6dz32jR58wH1
6. I really like that, always thought the non-export Aerodynes were the best looking Jazz basses.
7. Shame it's pink!
8. Price, location and photos may help your sale.
9. Forget innovation, I want one!!
10. Is it rack mountable? I might be tempted.... even though I sold a decent Nady a few months ago because I wasn't gigging at the time!
11. Bump, anyone interested before it goes on eBay?
12. I take it these switches are a standard thing, anyone know if it would work with my EBMM HD500?
13. Ah yes, I should mention we often play gigs without PA support for the drums or amps, so these 5w valve amps probably aren't going to cut it?
14. As bassists, we have a wide range a small amp heads, GK, MarkBass, Ashdown Little Giants, GB Shuttles, etc. But what's out there for the guitarist aside from huge heads built to fit on a 4x12? Apart from the Crate Powerblock that was out a few years ago, there doesn't seem to be a lot of options, does anyone know of anything similar? My guitarist is currently without transport, and could do with something like a Little Giant/Shuttle to take to practices and gigs where he can borrow a cab, but I can't find anything suitable. He used to play through a Marshall Mode Four, so pretty much anything would be smaller, but nothing seems particularly portable.
15. If I wasn't £550 short I'd be after that! Nice cab.
16. Daisy Rock Rock Candy Custom Special electric guitar in Red Star finish. Selling on behalf of my girlfriend who due to work commitments and a short attention span never learnt to play it. There's a couple of small dents on the back, shown in the third picture, but these were there when we bought it. It's got a nice slim neck and active Duncan Designed pickups. Will throw in a gig bag (not shown in photos), which is as new. CONSTRUCTION: Set-Neck BODY: Sycamore w/Contour Top NECK: Mahogany FINGERBOARD: Rosewood FRET: 22 Medium SCALE: 24 3/4" INLAY: Stars BRIDGE: TonePros® Tune-O-Matic w/String-Thru Body TUNERS: Grover HARDWARE: Black Nickel PICKUPS: Duncan Designed Detonators™ [HB-108] (Dark Star), Duncan Designed Active Humbuckers [HB-105] (Red Star) ELECTRONICS: Master Volume, Master Tone, 3-Way Selector, Dark Star has a Push-Pull Tone-Tap. Ideal for your wife/girlfriend/daughter who wants to learn to play guitar! Or of course the slim-neck loving bassist looking for a six string. £130 ono. .
17. Never heard of ELK, who are they? I like the red speakers, but I think South Norfolk would be a bit far anyway! Still not sure about the Peavey, going on my past experiences, but I am still considering!
18. I bought a Stagg rack bag, half the price of a Gator case and none of the annoying rattle I always got from the clips on my old Gator!
19. Here are some pics of the SWR. If anyone wants to trade it for a Barefaced Compact you won't hear any complaints from me!
20. I used to have a Peavey rig, and could never get the sound I liked out of it, but that may well have been down to the amp, so it may well be the solution to my budget-rig problems! If you could take some pics that would be great, thanks. I'll take some pics of the SWR cab tonight or tomorrow.
21.
Also got to put in a vote for Alkaline Trio's Dan Andriano. Some fun basslines while also singing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWjTdPk38v8
Great bassist, and a nice guy, had a many a chat with him about the pros and cons of Jazzes and Precisions.
22. Reverb's 10% off offer was looking pretty tempting on a £450 ABM 810, but I managed to keep the credit card in my wallet! I think realistically, an 8x10 would be too much hassle and I'm better off looking at 4x10/2x10 combinations. I am quite tempted by that stacked two 2x10 idea. Could get a couple of Peavey's pretty cheap to try it out. I'm also quite taken by the Eden Nemesis stuff, anyone know what connections they've got on the back, can't seem to find any pictures or information!
23.
Our Price: £499.00 RRP: £499.00 You Save: £0.00 (0%)
That'll be the recession then

Actually, I save £499.00. There's no way I'd spend that much money on it. I could get a new Highway 1 for £50 more, let alone the hundreds of second hand basses!
24. ABM would be nice... what are they going for second hand at the moment?
