Here's my setup: - Pioneer AVIC-D3 deck - 6.5" Alpine Type-R components up front (SPR-17S) - Alpine 5.25" Type-R speakers in the rear (SPR-13C) I am leaning against running a sub, so I want to make sure that my speakers are properly powered. I don't want to spend a lot of money, but I want the speakers to be run to their full potential or close to it for a reasonable price. Not just running off the deck. To me, a lot of 4 channel amps seem the same or very similar - I'm just looking to max out my setup without going to a sub setup. I'll probably pick something up on eBay or Craigslist in new or lightly used condition. Alpine, JL Audio, etc. preferred. Suggestions appreciated!
I think you may be in the wrong forum mate! Those seem to be in car entertainment stuff and this forum is for Bass guitarists!
43-60-82-104 Gauges Bought these off Davey last week; in good condition, loads of life left, very little use - nice strings. Been on my bass for literally two minutes, unfortunately too light for me - need higher tension. £12 inc. postage. Please PM me if interested. Thanks
PMed
Been reading this with interest, the tuner/rehearsal inputs/headphones etc interest me because since i sold my combo i have no quite practice equipment at home How do these compare with LMII heads soundwise?
I had a LM2 before I bought my RH450 and I have to say I loved the Markbass -- but the RH450 is so much more versatile in every aspect -- defo wouldnt go back to the LM2!
I`ve been offered a Tokai Jazz copy and I think it is over 15 years old. I know the guy well and he looks after his kit.
I've recently dispensed with my (admittedly very nice) Ashdown 410 300w combo because it just wasn't practical. I live in a middle flat at the top of a tiny metal staircase and the size and weight of the thing meant it was a nightmare to move. Halfway down the stairs I've thought this thing is slipping and either gonna break, or more likely break me. Also I can't drive and, well it just wasn't happening. So it's sold... After perusing the lightweight cabs on offer, I've plumped for a Purple Chilli 112 cab. One should be with me in the next week or so, with the intention of purchasing another one later in the year. Here's the blurb. It'll handle 300w RMS at 8 ohms. Question is... which lightweight head to power them with? I've done a little research and have a couple of products in mind, but must admit to being a little ignorant about amps. I thought it might be more interesting to open this question upto the forum, and with your help, hopefully avoid any costly schoolboy mistakes. I've recently been roped in with a group of MOR jazz noodlers. Not my first choice of music, but then again I'm a bit of a musical magpie. Music across all genres appeals to me, nothing's too broad or highbrow, so in the future I could be playing metal or country and western... who knows. I currently play a nice 2007 american S1 Jazz with no intention of changing anytime soon. At this afternoons rehersal I'll have to play through a 25w Laney practice amp that sounds like an incontinent dog on Boxing Day after being surrepticiously fed the kids brussel sprouts under the christmas table. I'd like to say money's no object... but I'm not a rich man. If somethings worth it though, things can be saved for. tl;dr? Your recommendations for a micro amp for two 300W @ 8ohms cabs please.
From personal experience I can recommend the Markbass amps and if you can stretch to it the fabulous TC Rebelhead 450.
Sadly Dave I think it shows more what a fickle git I am than anything else! Better service than the Bass Cellar eh? Thanks (I think!) On that note, if anyone is interested in purchasing anything from the Bass Centre, can I recommend that in the first instance they contact my Labrador Holly who should be able to offer a quicker service with better communications and an up to date website that really reflects what they do actually have in stock.
