Its possible that if you have one half of the pickup that was weak somebody wired each half to a seperate pot so that they could balance the sound better!

  14. Mine did the same thing after about 2 months of use, I think it was a faulty power supply and it was replaced under warranty. Its been fine since I got it back about 3 months ago and I wouldnt use any other Amp ----but I always carry a Back up to Gigs now! Will.

My 9 year old Jazz bass -- its a MIM and is in good condition for age with minor superficial marks from gigging It plays Looks and sounds great!--- The white has faded to a nice vintage creamy colour, the body and pickups have been fully copper shielded, and the pots have been changed to C.T.S. with a Switchcraft Jack and a Military grade Paper in oil capacitor. The block markers are Highly effective but easily removable high grade stick ons. Recently set up and fitted with new D'Adarrio EXL 160s ( 50 - 105 ) It weighs 9lb 5oz --- Nice medium action and everything works as it should do. Comes with old but servicable case shown in photos.
