1. Im really looking forward to it. ...Im not looking forward to the first time im gonna have to shift my new rig. Oh god, I got bored while packing it all up, thought id see how heavy the head is.. 7 Stone 2. OMFG. ooo, do we get name tags haha
2. oh god, I dont even wanna think how much ive blown this week just on bass stuff. Started last saturday with a Marshall VBA400 + VBC412 from Finbar, Bongo HS, also from bass chat Elixir Strings 5 decent patch leads 10x 9v batterys 9v power lead to power 6 pedals. Behringer Compresser/limiter pedal and Im getting a Overdrive and a Boss Flanger tomorrow.
3. Never had a problem before with standing close to the amp, but I have a bongo now and it goes mental if I go within 3-4 feet of it. The wierd thing is, its fine if its just the bridge pickup, the second I blend the neck pup in, it starts buzzing and getting feedback. even the other side of my room, about 6 foot I guess, I can still hear the buzz. I can only guess its because its a 18v bass, but why the neck pup makes it go mental is beyond me. Its fine with my ray and olp double hum. Tried changing cables, stopped going thru my pedals, everything, nothing really changes the fact I get feedback with the neck pup on. Edit: It doesnt buzz if I stand to the side of the cab
4. ive heard a lot of people say they take a back up bass for gigs, been to a fair few gigs and only ever seen 1 guitarist change guitar cause he broke a string. Is it worth taking a spare bass? do you swap basses for tone reasons in your set? lemme know why you guys/girls take a 2nd bass.
5. Can someone PM me with details about the location, Id like to bring my rig, but its weighs a ton, so I need to know if there are steps and crap, no/little steps = I can wheel it in. took my P bass to bits tonight, gonna rewire it tomorrow but either im dumb at circuits or I need a new one of those er.. things that you add to the pot to make it a tone pot, resister is it? anyone got a spare one? 250 i think If anyones getting rid of a flanger pedal and going to the bash, bring it Maybe some other pedals too
6.
hey nice to here your still gettin on well with that gorgeous ray! yeah i believe they were 45-100's mate! i love elixirs too! ive been experimenting with DR high beams lately but i reckon i'll get more elixirs soooooon!!!
Its LUSH! Havent played a better 'Ray yet! 45-100's it is then, ill PM you about the B string Ped.
7.
125.
awesome, so the lighter they are the better for how tight they are right?

Zoom b9.1ut

looks smart!!! I cant use the 2.1 to its full potential so im sure id get stuck before taking this out of the box.
9.
I bet you are hoping nobody says 'Bring the Marshall stack'
LOL, the thing weighs more then I do. the head alone is 5 stone without the flightcase. Sounds Fantastic though. Had my bongo running thru it today for the first time. OMG I nearly crapped myself with excitement.
10. any clue on which gauge I should get for a tight low B?
11. Im bringing my Bongo HS and Ray, oh and my fretless creation if I get time to rewire it. If anyone wants me to bring my rig let me know, drop me a PM and ill bring it, otherwise its staying at home, its too heavy to shift on my own thats all.
12. I bought Finbars Valve head, and im already regretting the weight. BUT ive never heard of anything like it!
13. I love love love them, ChrisDaBass put them on the Stringray before selling it to me and ive been hooked on them ever since. Just got my 4eq HS Bongo this afternoon, not loving the ernie balls on it so gonna get some elixirs, BUT Gauge??? Ive tralled thru the strings sticky but either im reading it wrong or its contridicting itself. I read Lighter gauge strings have to be tighter to get the note, I would have thought opersite but Im a noob or I wouldnt be here. Also ligher strings are better for slap/tapping, which someone then said the mediums are better. anyways, Im gonna get some new ones for my Stringray, which im sure were 45-100 if im not mistaken (chrisdabass can prob inform me) and I want some for my bongo, I guess im getting the 45-100 then a 125??? 130 is standard, but id like it to be tighter, nothing worse then a floppy B string. I play finger style and attempt to slap so if someone could help me id be more then greatful
14. Bought Pauls Bongo, Ive never seen packaging like it! sure it could survive a neuclear blast. Spoke on the phone, a very nice guy, pleasure to deal with.
15.
gold hardware is never classy imo, like never, always looks cheap, if a chav ever played bass.... black hardware is always gunna look more classy and stylish the 12th fret thing again, imo, looks so sh*te and cheap, im so glad that my blue dawn is a 2001 bass, and not the 2007 with such a marking on 12th fret
Plus the one!

17.
Strangely I bought his 2x10 cab off him only a couple of weeks ago. Pretty damn good it is too, you'll be wanting a 8 ohm one though, otherwise you'll pop your amp. 2 x 8 ohm cabs gives a 4 ohm total.
And you still havent left me any feedback Far0n! lol Thinking about it, Im not sure I left you any... *goes to check*

19. "find yourself a new ugly bassist" sounds like a good band on sunday
20. Hellllloooo. Y not fest, I went last year and it was pretty good for a tiny festival, I guess its for unsigned bands, few reallllly good ones headlining last year, there was one that stood out of the crowd too, not that they were good, but the multitude of wierd effects and wierder songs made me remember them. Im off again this year and wondered if anyone else was going? or playing? Its in Derby Dales neer chesterfield in a random field, £36 for the weekend pass, last year it was £1 a can of lager, cant go wrong at that! they have a massive tent for the after gig party/rave whatever it is, which is the accoustic tent thru the day. Toilets are clean (which is strange) and did I mention cheep beer??? you can bring your own but you cant go neer the stage with them. Supposed to be bigger this year too. More info here... http://www.ynotfestivals.com/ Oh and if someone has a cheepo accoustic bass, I wouldnt mind buying one to take with me.
21.
Haha sorry If it's any consolation i'm going to have to wait until christmas to settle my gas down
Im quite happy with my Ray, and I cant wait till tomorrow to get my bongo, its a gold which kinda sparkles anyways.. Although the White Sparkle is to die for. OMG!!!!!!!!!! That link above to the new limited Ray..... ALL GOLD HARDWARE!!! omg even the pickups bits are gold. I have to say thats the first Stingray I havent liked. Dont get me started on the gash 12th fret, surely after last years 2007 12th fret in blue dawn they should have learnt it looks terrible.
22. Not my cup of tea, altho the blue one is pretty special.
23.
Duracell Procell via eBay. I pay £8.99 for 10 including P&P. Unbeatable value for money IMHO.
Was really considering them. Awesome, thanks all for your replys. Ill get myself some.
