2. Quick question, Whats the best battery out there for the money and where is the best place to get them from for say a ten pack. heard diff batteries are diff sizes, im right in saying Duracell work fine in Musicman basses right?
3. I still dont understand why they are so cheep right now. Only a year ago they would go for £850 in good condition. I blame Gorden Brown, what does he eat for breakfast??? Credit Crunch *gets coat*
4.
You can get any model in the metal flake/sparkle finishes, you can order pretty much anything you want direct from musicman if you go through a dealer. Also grats on the bongo man
Thanks and.... Nooooooooooooooooo Dont tell me you can get normal 'ray in metal flake. Ive spent £1400 IN 2 DAYS on stuff I dont really need. Altho the bongo is gonna sound lush thru my new rig If you give me gas im gonna find where you live!!!
5.
+1 on that. I think Stingrays also benefit from really a good set-up. Every one I play seems to play better than mine does!
Strange that, I have the opersite, every ray I play doesnt match up to how nice mine is, I think I dropped on a really good one. everyone whos played it says the same.
6.
Jobiebass, 1.3mm is the size you need. Not sure about the grubs though...
Cheers ped!!
7.
Bongos apparently sound like a ray but beefier and a lot more flexible because of that 18V preamp. If you like a p-bass neck get a ray, if you like a jazz neck get a sterling, and if you want something uber different but essentially still the same sound, get a bongo.
+1 the piezo versions have the lovely metal flake finnish though. Stingray has the stingray tone, unmistakable, stirling has the smaller neck and not as beefy, but still sound great. and the bongo... well, ill tell you tomorrow when mine turns up. Supposedly have a lot more tone variation, 4eq and im getting the HS version with the humbucker and the jazz type pickup.
8. £300 is about right for one of these things. Ive seen a rough 2nd hand one recently in a shop with a price tag of £600, im sure they just bump the price up so they can tempt you into buying it by knocking money off. I got £200 knocked off a L-2000 just by picking it up. still £200 more then it was worth though.
9. Lovely thing, not sure id spend £600+ on it though, THe string thru body, im pretty sure is a mod. If it came with the original neck, it might be worth a punt.
10. Just bought his Marshall VBA400 and Marshall VBC412. Spot on guy, even let me have a go on his BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! Shuker 7 String. (I didnt do it justice, although he does) Kept in touch the whole transaction, easy going, nice bloke. Thanks Chris!!
11. Currently residing in my bedroom. Cheers Chris, Spot on fella!!
12. Duuuuuuuuuuuuude Thats bass is fantastic! Its even better in the flesh! Ok, I suck with all those strings, but WOW.
13.
Hi, need to know what you want to do about this rig'r. It's now Saturday morning!
Bahh, I was in Sheffield for the weekend and wasnt able to reply. PM'd
14. Im after a tool for mine, not sure on the size and I dont have one small enough to fit
15. its quite a sickening thought loosing an arm. There is a guy at work with 1 arm. He smells funny. But thats another story. Makes you glad to be in a good state of body. But if it happened to me... Sheffield is my home from home, and snakes pass is a good road as any to loose an arm, so ill go the def lep route. although thinking about it, that must mean he uses a lot of kick pedals and I have no co-ordination with my feet vs hand movement. Id become the one armed bandit
16. Still havent rewired it. havent had chance to play much recently, although that hasnt stopped me spending £1500 on bass stuff in the last week. Smoked? hummmm, not quite sure, Everytime I take the scratchplate off I keep thinking its a shame to cover the paint. But im sticking with the fact I hate clear/see thru s/plates. Although, if I made a clear one, it would give me a reason to slap some LED's in the cavitys. altho as its not an active bass im not sure how I could do that without far far too much effort and using a router.
17. GASSSSSSSSSSS If I wasnt shelling out of a new rig on the weekend id have this off you in a flash. aughh. wanted a bongo 5 for ages. *thinks* pay the creditcard off this month or buy bongo and pay it off next month.. hummmm.
18. maaaaaan.. if that was just a maple neck id have snapped it up. Good luck with the sale, its beautiful
19. Bump-o, Should be getting my new rig saturday so any offers will be considered.
20. I have no idea TBH. But I really hope everything works out ok for you.
21. been looking at pedals, I know jack all about, Boss and Behringer look and sound to my ears pretty much the same. I have a Behringer Limiter/Enhancer, newly purchaced. And I like it a lot, not sure wether to carry on with Behringer pedals or go the boss route. Obviously there are loads of others I can experiment with later but these seam to be the budget pedals to start with. I could be wrong. Could do with a Flanger, Overdrive (general destortion not for metal/thrash) and Chorus if you know of any going cheep.
22. so THATS why you wanted a sweet tin! LMFAO. This is gonna be emense!
