Makes things very interesting.
mind my french.... $&"X*$£X"%&* will just have to use them when skateboarding/snowboarding instead. Thanks for the heads up.
 2.
Hello people, im having trouble finding headphones with a good bass response to play Bass through... I have some Beyer Dynamics (not a very expensive pair mind) and they sound crap. I was wondering if this could be the Amp???? its as if they cant handle the basses lows... Could anyone point me in the right direction, to what to look for in a head phone.. Thankyou.. Ps for those using head phones, what amp are you putting them through??
Depends what your using it for I guess. I put normal headphones into the back of my Zoom b2.1u, Just bought some Zoom (prob not same co and the bass co) bluetooth ones. Not recieved them yet though.
 3. Morning Bumpity. Looking more and more likely I need to get rid of this gear. Offers?
 4. Flea is pretty much my hero but the band is kinda blues/indy

bought the Combo about 8 months ago from Electromusic in Doncaster. is in very good nick, only been out of the house/moved twice. Looking for £140 collected. But open to offers as I could do with shifting it.
 7. So are there any decent books out there to help with this??
 8.
let your imagination run riot.
I know what your getting at but im finding it hard. There was a build up which was a# x6, d#, f, Cx8 Dx8 and I knew there needed SOMETHING either on the last 2 C notes or around that area that I could have easly put something in but I just have no clue what to play or do. Im not asking for a solution to that, im just trying to say I can spot the opertunity but I need some direction.
 9.
Another obvious one is Parallel Universe for fingerpicking stamina.
+1 Search and destroy by metalica was a good one for fingerstyle too.
 10.
You have no idea how much I want the MM32 Just looking at the single pup MM3 in the FS section, shame I really can't stretch to the MM32 (if you can still get them new).
"Machines" already has dibs on it. lol. Not sure about getting them new, I was told by "STOO" this one was imported. I dont know much about OLP's tbh.
 11. Well ive just started taking lessons. Mainly just for the theory. learning scales and such forth, Inprov will come in time im sure. But if I can find extra help in the form of a book it'll give me something to do between bass lessons on top of what my tutour asks me to do/learn.
 12. Morning campers. Finally have time to join a band so me and a few mates started on on the weekend. Now I seam to have run into a problem, ive been playing about 3 years but I just rip off other peopels bass lines which means now I have no clue how to make up one up to go with that they are playing unless I just play root notes, I tried throwing in some extra notes, just 3rds and 5ths here and there but tbh it wasnt great. Is there any books you would recomend?? I could really do with swatting up, its a little embarasing when the drummer (who shreads guitar) can pick up my bass and make something up better then I can.

 14.
sorry guys i probably didn't start this too well shall we say bassists that are still going strong or still going at all in the 00's that'll be easier gets his coat for being such a muppet!
If thats the Case...... Flea
 15. Ive been into Slayer for years and years, And they are THE only metal band I listen to now-a-days. When I first picked up a bass I wanted to play Slayer stuff and Doors stuff, only to find out Slayer stuff was far too fast for me and The doors didnt have a bassist on 90% of their songs. Anyways... Back when I used to play with a pick I couldnt play anything by slayer because of the speed and I was only doing down strokes. Havent tried to play any slayer stuff since. To save looking thru 100's of tabs, Which Slayer songs are worth learning?? I know the magority of them have a lot of open notes, im looking for some which are more tech. Id prefer stuff from these albums, God hates Us all, Reign in Blood, Seasons in the Abyss, South Of Heaven, Thanks in advance
 16.
I'll be the heretic then, I say get pi55ed and go mental. Make them force you off stage after 45 minutes of ham-fisted bass soloing and dodgy dancing. If you feel like you're losing them at any point, just get your willy out.
+1
 17.
There was a day when I popped out to buy some new strings and came home with a Laney 300w head, a huge old Fender 1x15 & a 2x10 as well. At the time my only bass amp was a tiny little Peavey - she wasn't impressed. . . . .
Strange that, I poped in to get Strings and ended up with a MIM Jazz and no strings. went back in a few weeks later for the same strings and ended up with strings and my combo.
 18. I know what you mean. I have terrible GAS. Im never happy with my gear. Ive got a good set up now, 5 string, fretless, 4 string, combo+cab, zoom b2.1u Doesnt stop me wanting a Bongo, Burpsters P, 57 reissue, another 5 string, want rid of my combo for a head and another cab (which I have no need for) just got some new pups even though I was quite happy with the old ones. I BLAME BASSCHAT! that and I have far too much time on my hands at work so all I do is look for more stuff to buy. Wouldnt mind a D tuner for my Ray too although I have absolutly no experiance with drop D tuning lol. GAS is a bad bad thing.
 19.
I've had strap locks (a mix of Grolsh, plastic and Schallers) on my basses and guitars since I was first in a band. The only time I had bass fall off happened when I first got my Streamer Std and hadn't got round to putting the strap locks on. I was playing a gig at The Casbah in Sheffield and the strap came off at the bottom strap button. I actually managed to drop to my knees and keep playing without missing a note (it wasn't that difficult a bassline). The rest of the band just thought I was 'getting into it'!
whats it like to play in Cas???
 20. Free bar last night... turns out they sold grolsh with the crazyness lids. I did my part in running up the bar tab getting grolsh for people who didnt actually like or want one.
 21. ive just got some 1/4 pounders, not tried them yet tho
 22. Dunno, Few grand maybe. Depends on my desposable income at the time. Thinking about a Shuker in the future and im guessing that will be about my limit.
 23. Yes and no My ray made me smile no end for months and months, but now im playing about with eq more and more where I didnt before, Im quite disheartened with not being able to EQ propperly.
