2. More pics, More pics, More pics, More pics, More pics, More pics, More pics, ect
3. could get an ebony mighty mite neck from ebay. have to import them from america but I was well pleased with mine (see the link in my signature for my fretless P build)
4.
What's amazing is how the guy fitted a Nikon 50mm lens on a Canon 5D mk2.
Dont get me wrong I dont know ANYTHING about cameras. But my friend just sent his off to a specialist to shim his cam down to fit a lens that wouldnt normally fit.
5. Have you thought about the ACG pre instead of the Aguilar OBP-3? I cant speak more highly of it! im sure guys on here may back me up on that. ive played loads of eq's with bass/mid/treb but imho you cant beat a filter based eq. ACG pre for jazz type pickups
6. +1 on the Geddy Lee. Jazz's are thinner then P's in general, and the Geddy is a slimmed down version of the Jazz. The strinray has a similer nut width (or the same) as a fender P, so if you want a musicman and want a slimmer neck go for a sterling, (not stirling for ernieball or whatever the cheap range is cause you can prob find a 2nd hand musicman version for the same price as the cheeper ones new) the sterling doesnt have as much growl as the 'ray though imho
7.
Of all the Shukers on Basschat, that black jazz is my favourite. It looks so sick. I bet it plays just as well.
It REALLY does. its set up perfectly, the scale length makes everything so much easyer and that ACG pre is better then any other pre ive played before, its so much better (imho) then having the bass, mid, treb knobs you get standard on most other basses. Can dial in so many tones really easyly. By turning the filter stack 1/2 up you get a really lovely retro sound so easy. Edit: thanks for the nice words btw
8. Bump for removed sticker
9. Bahh, I paid more then that 2nd hand for mine! was in mint cond like. but still, would have prefered £100 in my pocket.
10. Im starting to think the same as you, with the Grolshlocks my Shuker doesnt fit in its case quite right with the strap on. Ive only ever used Grolshlocks tho so I wouldnt know where to start either
11. Price Drop £1050 ono
12. why dont you get a Boss Flanger? turn it so its not doing anything. Might suck a little tone tho but at least you can be seen to use it even if its not doing anything. Altho if you get the Boss Flanger your guitard will steal it from you. I havent seen mine in months lol.
13. Marshall VBA400? Full valve goodness if you like that rock sound. weighs a ton tho.
14. Mirrored fretboard? what the deuce! Got any other pics of that?? Im intrigued!
15.
Here are my Sterlings with DR Black Beauties on the HH and Peacock Blues on the single H (this is my one true love and I've owned it for years).
Love those strings on that blue sterling. really set it off!
16. Chris has a lovely one (Finbar), not sure if hes sold it yet tho, was in the for sale section before ive come on holiday. That is a lovely bass tho! I wouldnt get rid of it either!
17. Defiantly for sale now guys/gals.
18.
Killers (Hot Fuss era)....The Strokes, Kings of Leon, A Wilhelm Scream,
Kings of Leon have interesting bass lines? Dont get me wrong, I love them, But which songs have interesting bass? seams like a lot of route notes to me. I could be wrong.
19.
Bully !! Musician make horrible customers - Shops get a raw deal these days with everyone throwing Internet prices in their faces...... I don't mind paying a bit more for good service...... I've built up good relationships with a good number of shops both locally and nationally, they value my custom and I respect their need to make a living !
Totaly know what you mean. I buy a great deal of stuff from Electro Music in Doncaster, Im on first name basis with 2 of them too. Id rather give back to a loal shop then buy online, ok if its stupidly priced then ill go online but for instance. I was going to buy a new Ampeg 410hlf, £600 on the internet and I was happy to pay £650 in Electro for it (that was till I saw a 2nd hand 610 they had in instead) Did annoy me a little that he pratted around with the eq getting it "perfect" without telling me what the hell he was doing. Generally very good service in there, always been very helpful. Ive been in electro around 4ish when the school kids come in and one of the guys came up and asked everyone to be careful with the instuments, but in fairness there were 3 kids around 11-15 picking up expensive Fenders and a new stingray pratting about with them with no intention of buying.
20. Bumpo, The more I play with the Shuker the more I think this shouldnt just be a feeler.
21.
The widest bit, cheers! Im guessing its around 320mm, maybe a little less?
335mm measured over the rear pickup, I think thats the largest bit.
22.
Bumping an old thread... Hey Eude, the visual balance between the smaller headstock and body looks really nice! Is this bass body the same size as a standard Jazz bass, or is it slightly smaller? If it is, how wide is it accross? I would like the same kind of proportions on my P bass. Cheers!
which it would you like me to measure? widest bit, shortest bit? it is definatly smaller but its quite hard to tell when you playing. altho it does make it much easyer to play.
23.
Loading his rifle!
*hides*
24.
Yeah, they come in loads of different colours but they are all fundamentally the same string. I had them on my Squier VM Jazz, my Warwick (both ex-basses) and have used them for years on my Sterlings and I love the bottom, the crunch and the zinginess I can get out of them. I hope you find a use for them - look crazy on that Flea though.
Yeah im not sure they would look great on the flea compaired to the black Shuker, but ive always had Elixirs on the flea so would be nice to see what else suits that bass tone wise. I dont mind shelling out for stings to give them a try. Ive got quite a few barely used string sets. I should see if anyone wants them really but I dont know what most of them are. Definatly got 2 sets of elixirs. pretty sure I have some Rotos hanging about, but I did give soem away at the last bass bash. pretty sure I have an elixer B string somewhere too, think I swapped them over when I sold my bongo and put the Ernie ball slinkys back on, or I have a 5 set of Ernie balls. lol.
25. Dont worry about it, I hate sunburst! I just had to get along with it because it was the only choice. I dont actually mind it now. But a sunburst fender? Id set it on fire, 62" or not. (thats gonna annoy some people, wheres beedster?)
