Hi Guys, A bit of advice wanted. I don't know if this is normal behavior or something that my particular bass does. When I pluck the strings quite hard the sound becomes limited. It's the same effect as when I wind the threshold up on the compressor on my amp, i.e the volume doesn't increase but the sound becomes 'hard'. This is hard finger style playing, not popping or slapping, and the compression is wound completely off. If it's not normal, is it likely to be a problem with the preamp or possibly the pickups? I play a Lakland 55-01 with bartolini pickups and bartolini NTMB electronics. Cheers Martin

I don't think John has a feedback section (I couldn't find one), so... I bought John's Simon and Patrick acoustic from him recently. Not only was it exactly as described (pretty much immaculate) but he re-strung it, delivered it in person, and even gave me a £5 discount on the day (without me asking!) Top bloke. Cheers, Martin
right - where's the cheapest place a tight arse like me can get a set of moulded ER-15s? I don't really fancy doing my own impressions, so anywhere I can get the impressions done in the price is good and also anybody that will colour them gratis as well is always a winner looked at sensorcom, audiorelief and hearingprotection so far
http://www.blueplug.co.uk/ and the er15's are well worth investing in - wouldn't be without mine.
Thanks Dan - that pretty much tells me all I need to know about ear type stuff. Off to the shops on Saturday it is Cheers Martin
Well I bit the bullet' and ordered some ER15s today from Boots in Cheltenham. I can change the filter within 3 months, so happy with that. I also had a hearing test; quite interesting really. Normal up to 4k then dropped off 20dB up to 8k. Apparently about right for my age and musical history!
Sorry James - it's just my pathetic sense of humour. I was just implying that if you placed a dead rabbit under the front of your cab to angle it back, you'd be able to hare yourself better, that's all mate.
glad you explained it, I'd totally missed the point
Recently purchased off our very own Bass Ferret its still in good condition. Since I bought my Berg rig I havent got much need for this and its 1x12 partner has now gone as has my EBS head. £200 or I will keep it for noodling around on. This is a good deal I think for a great little cab. Steve
Sounds a good price to me - shouldn't be around long. I love EBS neos, I can carry mine one in each hand!
