2. Wow, that one produced a lot of answers very quickly! Sounds like I need to try out some other amps to see if I need ( ) a change. Thanks for all the advice.
 3. Hi, I use a Peavey MAX700 with a 4 ohm EBS Neo210, which gives just under 500 watts rms. What difference would I hear if I upgraded the amp, and what would you guys suggest trying? And if there is a difference in sound, is it the preamp or the power amp that makes a difference? One thought I had was to get an EBS microbass preamp (or something similar) and use it to drive the power amp section of the Peavey. I'm after a tighter bass sound, if that makes sense. Oh, and the guitar is a Lakland 55-01 NTMB, strung with d'dario half rounds. Any thoughts? Cheers Martin
 4. I use a peavey 700 watt head with a 4 ohm EBS neo 210 which gives just under 500 watts. For more sound I add an 8 ohm mag410 which pushes the power up to about 600 watts. I have to cut the bass when I add the 410 or it gets a bit boomy. I reckon a ebs neo 212 would be better than the 410, but funds don't permit at the moment. I'd also like to try an epifani ul310 or ul410. I much prefer the lightweight neo cabs route - my 210 is easily carried in one hand.

 7.
i'm thinking that you could probably use songs that have been ripped from a CD using i-tunes but you can only play songs downloaded from them on an ipod. I guess you could connect an ipod to an auxillary input on the tascam if it has one
I think you are right, only songs ripped from cd could be used. However there are probably tools which do a better job of ripping cds to mp3 than itunes - I use audiograbber (it's a free download) plus a third party mp3 encoder that audiograbber give links to.
 8. I've been trying to buy a tribal planel for several weeks, but no luck finding a stockist. They certainly look like great cases. GSX7B2 is the one I would like.
 9.
Sounds pretty good with my GK 700
Hi Nik, I used to sounded pretty good with my max450 as well. Glad you're enjoying the cab, I just couldn't cope with the weight, as you know. My current rig doesn't have the low end of the tvx410. Don't sell it, you'll regret it Cheers Martin

 11.
Hi All. Considering selling one of my Tech 4x10 Neo cabs, model ND 410 S. I currently have two of these. I use one for my band which lives in the PA/events truck, the other in my garage for deps. I'm thinking as a second cab it would be nice to have an alternative to my main gigging cab so may sell my garage cab. All specs are on the link below under Cabinets/10" but in short.... 4 ohms, 1200 watts, 53lbs, very good condition. No picture of actual item at the moment although will get round to it when I have time. Cash on collection from South London. No postage. £500 but no offers as I will need the cash to replace this with another quality neo cab, of which I'm not sure as yet. Just bought a Peavey 410 from Martinbass7750 and it arrived so well packaged I thought it was brand new direct from the manufacturer!! He's a great bloke to deal with and the gear is exactly as he described and you can't ask for much more than that. Thanks Martin, be very happy to deal with you again anytime... Nik
Cheers Nik, always nice to have a happy ending

 14.
I have recently started using a Gallien Krueger 700RB II with 2 x 10 RBH cab. Absolutely love it but from new have noticed a loud hissing from the tweeter. I run the cab using the Speakon cable supplied by GK (ie the tweeter is only powered by the seperate 50w amp in the head) but the hiss is loud!! I can use the tweeter cut to reduce (but not remove) the hiss but this really effects my tone. I am running the tweeter at about 11 o-clock, so not an excessive setting really. Don't really notice this whilst gigging but during set-up I can hear it from 20ft away! Can anyone help - Am I just being picky (afterall it is drowned out by the rest of the band) or is there a fault with the AMP / CAB. - As I say, this rig is BRAND NEW (about 2 months).
won't be the cab, could be the amp or guitar if it's active. does the hiss reduce when you turn down the master volume? - if so then its' source is before that. does the hiss reduce when you turn down the input gain? if so then the source is before the gain control. Do you get the hiss with the guitar removed? if yes, then it's the amp, if no then it's the guitar. hope that helps a bit.

I could have bought one for £119 from the tascam stand at music live at the weekend - not sure if that included vat though. It's a brilliant tool - sounds great - thoroughly recommended.

 19.
When I run my Tascam Bass Trainer off the mains I get a tink shock off the strings of my bass. The unit is really noisy when running on the AC too. Any suggestions as to how to cure? Thanks Sean
Sounds like a bit of earth leakage current to me, which you can get with a mains switching power supply. Is the adapter 3 pin or 2 pin on the mains bit, i.e. is it earthed? If so, is the socket you plug it into earthed? I agree you shouldn't get this so if your mains earth is ok then the adapter must be faulty and you mustn't use it. Cheers Martin

 21. wish I had some spare money - that's a lovely bass
 22. bought a DI box and an Ashdown cab. Had to save some money to justify the mega expensive ticket!
 23. +1 for the Doug Wimbish set - first number was ok, but I left during the third; very disappointing. Didn't manage to spot any fellow basschatters. I started talking to a guy at the bass direct stand who was wearing a homer t-shirt, but he denied being Nice Guy Homer. I think I saw Nate playing on several stands - stunning. And the guitarist on string and things was superb as well.
