I thought it would be fun if you guys would give your opinion about a choice I have to make the next couple of weeks. Be asured: It's my choice, but feel free to give your honest opinion, or give me some other ideas. In 2008 I ordered a Celinder fretless with these specs: J Vintage 4 fretless Chambered mahogany body bookmatched cocobolo top Birdseye maple neck brazilian rosewood fretboard, with coating and sidelines Sounds, like a fantastic bass, but after the months went by, I thought of another fretless that would be an fantastic bass. It will be the twin-brother of my shoreline gold J Classic that I love so much J Classic 4 fretless Alder body birdseyemaple neck macassar ebony fretboard with coating and sidelines passive stacked knobs Ice blue metallic with matching headstock For the people who know this bass, it's a J Classic 4 version of Flankers and my old Vintage 5 with the same color, and bodywoods) So, what would you choose?

I just bought a Aguilar DB750, so this fantastic Glockenklang Soul amp, can find a new home. I have been playing Glockenklang gear exclusively for almost 9 years, and still think it's one of the best brands, maybe THE best brand of Bass amplification. But for me it's time for something else, and I always wanted to have the hybrid DB750. My back will regret this change after a few weeks I guess! From the glockenklang website: The Glockenklang Soul head rewards it´s owners with clear, articulate and powerful sound reproduction. It´s power amp was designed to be lightning fast, and to deliver high fidelity performance. The pre amp´s main feature is the 5 band eq, with it´s specially tailored frequency centers. It allows the artist to quickly and exactly shape his individual sound. The Soul amplifier is a top instrument for discriminating bass artists, capable of producing a lively and accurate bass sound, even under extreme conditions. Increased gain levels provide smooth overdrive. Features: High performance power amp section (440 watts / 4 0hms, 250 watts / 8 ohms) Excellent equalization section LED peak indicator for pre amp and power amp LED indicators for all switch functions Optimally routed effects loops Dual input A/B box with separate pre gain trim for input B Balanced DI out with level control Compact and robust 2 space amplifier exterior Inputs: Input A for passive instruments Input B for active instruments, with additional pre gain trim control Tone controls: Switchable 5 band EQ Bass +/- 15 dB Low +/- 12 dB Mid +/- 8 dB High +/- 12 dB Treble +/- 12 dB Effect lopps 1serial effects loop, pre eq 1parallel effects loop, post eq, intensity controlled by effects section on the front panel, footswitchable Dimensions: 19", 2 rackspaces Weight: 11 kg, (24lbs) Price for a new one would be 1200 euro's excluding a case, I'm hoping to get back what I paid for it some years ago. 750 euro including a 2HE case. I'm looking to sell this is The Netherlands, Belgium, or Germany. Either this can be picked up in Amsterdam, or we can meet half way.

Great looking AC, mr. Flanker. The greyburst is special, and looks very nice.

Factory visit to Chris Celinder's workshop, Copenhagen

I think the waitinglist is about 2 years, So it can be the perfect gift for your 41th birthday party -
4-5kg isn't that light. I had a Sadowsky once that was around 3,5 kg. Or do you mean 4-5 pounds, or lbs?

Thanks for the pictures and info about your visit to Chris workplace, CrazyKiwi! Wow, would really like to play this bass. It's alot like the Celinder I have on order. Except mine will be a 4 string, and will have a Cocobolo top (I think this one is Koa) and no fretlines, only sidelines. I really enjoyed my meeting with Chris last year. Very nice guy, and he learned me alot about the craft of making the perfect bass. -
Exactly. Chris told me once he never used swamp-ash beceause the wood is so soft, and it just destroys the tone. His basses with ash body's are just to heavy for me, so I prefer the ones with Alder. Great tone, and not to heavy.

Hi, It's a passive jazzbass '1960' style. So it is volume/passive tone for each pickup.

I thought that the people on this subforum might enjoy these pictures.
The vast majority of us are in the UK not the US on this forum so we're on the same side of "the pond".
pardon my Englisch. The North Sea is our own Ocean....
I wonder why its never been used?
This bass was owned by a guitar player, so it stayed in it's case most of the time. It has been used a bit. Looks like a bass that has players wear for 1-2 years instead of 30....
I still have this is anyone's interested:-
Sorry, that's kind of rude in somebody's for sale ad....

Wombatboter is right about this. Als you can see in the statistics the GBP lost a lot of value in 2008., that explains the difference in price between him and Walplayer. 2007- 2008 - Euros to 1 GBP (invert) Average Rates October 2007 1.43675 EUR (23 days average) November 1.41079 EUR (22 days average) December 1.38419 EUR (21 days average) January 2008 1.3386 EUR (23 days average) February 1.33148 EUR (21 days average) March 1.28978 EUR (21 days average) April 1.25792 EUR (22 days average) May 1.263 EUR (22 days average) June 1.26366 EUR (21 days average) July 1.26209 EUR (23 days average) August 1.26153 EUR (21 days average) September 1.25261 EUR (22 days average) October 1.27074 EUR (23 days average) November 1.20986 EUR (14 days average) http://www.x-rates.com/d/EUR/GBP/hist2008.html
another celinder?
No, A '77 Stingray, in 'mint' condition. Plays and sounds wonderfull. Bought it on the day, Birdy put this FS-ad up here...... I really would like to have an J Update, but I like the Stingray to much, to part with it, to fund for this Celinder. And with already 2 Celinder J-basses, I can't complain. .
