  1. Uriah Heep was the first ever proper live gig I went to. The Leys Club, Letchworth on October 16th 1971.
  2. He sounds like a prime candidate for the thread on when musicians/vocalists should retire.
  3. Currently on Sky Arts, 7pm to 9pm, Genesis: When In Rome (2007) Turn It On Again Tour. Massive crowd, 500,000 apparently. Really enjoying it, lots of nice tricky prog time signatures.
  4. Have you listened to recent live performances by David Coverdale or Jon Bon Jovi, that should answer the thread title.
  5. I was a bit concerned our gig last night might have been cancelled due to the Royal stuff going on at the moment. Singer emailed yesterday morning to say his voice is playing up and he won’t be doing the gig. The venue was not best pleased when I telephoned to cancel at short notice and the rest of the band were pretty brassed off about it.
  6. Bass masterclass over πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Dave stepped down from the drumming duties on YYZ.
  7. The great Joe Walsh, superb guitarist, been a member of the Eagles since 1975.
  8. He absolutely murdered Hysteria. 😳 Definitely find another frontman and the band will move on leaps and bounds. πŸ‘
  9. They did happen and hopefully won’t be erased from history.
  10. 1975 was also a great line up, all for the sum of Β£5.95p.
  11. Hopefully his bass playing is as good as his tricks.
  12. This Bank Holiday Monday PR is playing throughout the day the top 75 guitar solo songs as voted by the listeners, looking forward to hearing them. My guess for number one would probably be Comfortably Numb.
  13. How the hell is this Mason guy still getting away with all these crimes.
  14. I agree that Debbie and Steve were being very reasonable with their request regarding your noise pollution. These folks were obviously enjoying the previous Summer months in a nice quiet environment prior to you guys practicing. I would personally be dipping into my pocket and hiring a proper rehearsal studio where you can avoid these noise issues.
  15. I don’t really see anything unusual about that. I have invested serious money into my bass rig and bass guitar, the guitarist similar, one of his guitars was over 4k and the drummer has a top end kit. Why should a vocalist just be expected to only invest a few hundred quid in a decent mike and a stand. In our current band the vocalist owns his own P.A.
  16. When I first read it, I thought it said you and the drummer were moving in together 😜😜😜😜😜
  17. What a joy to hear some excellent female vocalists, superb performance from all of them. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
  18. Tonight Friday 7.00pm Sky Arts - New Live from the Artists Den The Black Crowes
  19. I just keep mine at a nice length.
  20. Surely as soon as the band picked up this was happening with the first gig he messed up for you, the band should have contacted each individual venue of your future bookings to clarify and confirm you were still performing at them at the agreed dates.
  21. Currently on Sky Arts 11.30 pm Tuesday The making of Aja by Steely Dan. Pure magic. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
  22. Soul destroying gig last night, only our second of this year, normally we would have done 10 to 15 at this point in a year. Played a pub in a small village, one of the locals either got married or had some sort of party, so most of the village probably attended, our audience at the pub was the barman and two punters, we only played our first set and then the two punters left, the barman said we might as well pack up and paid us our full fee. I’m seriously considering calling it a day for gigging at the end of this year, Covid has absolutely hammered the live music scene around here, it was always very buoyant pre Covid.
  23. Macca has some special big gun surprise guests on stage tonight, Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen.
