  1. I think the term I used to describe myself in the day, was rhythm guitarist, I was never really good enough to be lead guitarist, far too many notes to remember in solos.
  2. The little 9 year old girl is a joy to watch. The 15 year old lad has a great technique, but it just leaves me cold. I remember many years ago when I was playing second guitar in a band and we were auditioning for a bass player, the guy was a bedroom player and had some seriously good technique, as demonstrated while we were setting up, unfortunately, when it came to playing with a band he was just awful, bad timing, couldn’t lock in with the drummer.
  3. Just got back from the Wishbone Ash gig tonight. Awesome bass tone from Bob Skeat, it looked like he was playing an Ibanez 5 string through an Ashdown rig, it was great to see a bass player going straight into the amp without any effects pedals/unit.
  4. Going to a Wishbone Ash gig on Tuesday.
  5. BBC4 this Friday at 11.45pm. On Bass - Tina Weymouth. I’m pretty sure it’s been on before, but for those who want to see it again or haven’t seen it, check it out.
  6. Dave, I hope you all got paid well for all that hassle and added expense.
  7. Main bass USA Amplification Italy
  8. Ronnie Wood played bass on Jeff Becks first album Truth, did a cracking job IMO.
  9. Iron Butterfly track to the end scene in Manhunter.
  10. That film has some fantastic music tracks all the way through it.
  11. Greg Ridley - Humble Pie Douglas Allen Woody - Allman Bros and Government Mule
  12. Loads A Money………. Bish Bosh.
  13. Is this you guys?
  14. I would have personally given the guy from Facebook a go, good guitarist- tick, good singer-tick and has his own PA-even bigger tick. I know you stated Sunday evenings were not ideal for you, but it would have been well worth sacrificing one Sunday, you may have got on playing together really well, this would have created a real positive vibe and you may have mutually found an alternative evening that suits you both for rehearsing.
  15. Not seen it yet as I have it recorded. Stop Draggin My Heart Around is a cracking track by Tom and Stevie.
  16. Really getting into these guys, reminds me very much of the Allman Bros and the Deep South bands that were on the Capricorn record label.
  17. Superstition, the Phil X version.
  18. You could try one of these.
  19. Wishbone Ash in November.
  20. Pretty sure this is played on just one string.
  21. Very good, just a shame that annoying “look at me woman” was prancing about in front of the band on the video.
  22. Four piece, we are charging £240.
  23. Blimey, first gig back and you are playing the O2.
  24. Oh Man, this could have been me, we did exactly the same in our school in the early seventies, same bands except the Ash album we played to bits was Pilgrimage, my best pal Giz was also seriously into Stray. One highlight of my life is that the band I was in, played support to the Andy Powell Wishbone Ash.👍👍
  25. For folks who like Morrissey’s voice, maybe a good thing, for me the total opposite 🤮
