There were two fundamental errors mentioned on the list, out of tune and out of time, having an off day is no excuse IMO.

A lot of us in bands have been in these situations many times before in either putting a band together or auditioning replacement members. Expectations are really high based on previous communications and when it comes to actually auditioning them (if it even gets that far), they have nowhere near the capabilities they have talked themselves up to have, reality soon hits and it’s a massive disappointment. We know how you feel, keep at it, you may have a few more to weed through, but you will find someone suitable at some point.

These ladies really kick ar*e, great musicianship. Not an originals band, but a fabulous tribute to Deep Purple.

He’s another Andy (AKA Pete), can’t have three Andy’s in the band. 😀

Niche/hobbyist titles are holding their own. The older glossy large circulation titles are on their knees, sales figures are falling year on year and several have already folded, some with reasonably healthy circulation figures (that some publishers would give their right arm for) are no longer sustainable. I worked in magazine publishing for over 25 years and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, times have now changed and I’m glad I no longer work in that sector. The problem with the very large glossy titles is that they rely heavily on advertising revenue, the advert rates they can charge are based on their circulation figures, big circulation figures attract wealthy advertisers who will pay big money, as circulation figures fall, advert rates reduce and at some point the publication becomes unviable.

Solution = lock the drummer in the shed.

It was ok until the Gallagher brother was featured (far too much of him IMO), that guy is so obnoxious, he cannot even string one sentence together without using the f word.

Thought I would learn some real old classic rock tunes that I have never played in any bands I have been in. Fully learnt Black Night by Deep Purple yesterday evening.👍

Heard this great track from Budgie the other day. It really made me think what an amazing voice Burke Shelley has, being Welsh his phrasing and tone is very similar to Shirley Bassey on the melodic stuff.
