  1. Our old keyboard player Russ is doing well, now with Austin Gold, doing albums and big venues/festivals.
  2. Dave Stewart, that brings back some old prog memories, seen him play in the band called Egg, 29th February 1972, I’m pretty sure he was also in the band Khan.
  3. That’s still over £390 for two tickets ☹️
  4. This is my beef, top dollar ticket prices for what will most probably be well below par vocals, I think the other guys in the band will be on top form.
  5. I have absolutely no issues with him not drumming or sitting in a chair front of stage, what I do have an issue with is the vocal quality. Some of the older performers just do not know when to give up/retire, it’s sad to see them performing as a shadow of their former selves, this is a reason why a lot of the high end tribute bands do so well, it’s like listening to the performance as it used to be. There is one particular vocalist who is seventy and I have no hesitation in purchasing tickets for his tours, as I know his vocals are totally on point, that’s Paul Rodgers.
  6. There’s plenty of other examples on YouTube from that tour, I just happened to choose that one.
  7. As much as I really enjoy early and later Genesis and Phil Collins, I cannot see the proposed tour being enjoyable, Phil has lost his voice with age and other problems, it’s not good. I would assume the ticket prices will be high, for a below par performance, certainly would not be worth it. Here is a clip of Phil Collins tour from last year, the vocals (pardon the pun) speak for themselves.
  8. I’m fairly certain the volume of cases in the U.K. will rise, but to put it into perspective, we currently have 35 confirmed cases in a population of 66 million.
  9. Agree with you there, but a lot weren’t doing it justice, mainly as others have mentioned on here, the drummers letting it down, missing out the fills etc.
  10. It’s definitely in our set.
  11. I’m not demoralised by them, as I’m pretty sure if you put a large majority of them in a live band situation, they would be totally sh*gged. There is a big difference to playing alone in your bedroom/music room and getting to gel with other musicians on stage.
  12. One Undred and Eighteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey. 😀
  13. Guilty as charged. I expect fellow musicians to have a certain degree of humour, just chill out and don’t take comments too seriously 😐
  14. Reminds me of this lot. Creme Brûlée from League of Gentlemen.
  15. Read the thread title quick, thought it was about Hair Styles 😀
  16. This is my spin on it and the same applies to Thin Lizzy stuff, Phil Lynott played simpler bass lines when playing live due to being also the lead vocalist, the recorded bass lines are more involved. My current band does a few Lizzy numbers and we have a lead/frontman vocalist, I much prefer to play the bass lines off the recordings as I only have to concentrate on playing.
  17. Brown Sugar - Rolling Stones Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin Riders on the Storm - The Doors
  18. Just got in from a night out and put in on. Not impressed, weak and out of tune vocals👎 Switched over to channel 70 for horror film.
