  1. I personally have not had a lot of joy with them, the folks at ACS have been very helpful, initially got the 17’s, couldn’t hear my bass, changed them for 15’s, same problem, changed again for 10’s being sure these would definitely do the job, can only just hear my bass but not enough to feel comfortable playing live. I had a free hearing test when I had the earplugs moulded and there is no issue with my hearing.
  2. Unfortunately, another load of gear left in a vehicle.
  3. This song makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, just love it.
  4. Cloudbusting, that is awesome, very high end tribute band. What a buzz it must be to play in a band of that quality, total respect.
  5. Pished landlords are a bad sign IMHO, usually equals a badly run pub full of like minded clientele.
  6. My old pal Paul Henderson doing a bit of Bowie at the Hansa Studios.
  7. I did state we play for pleasure and don’t do it for a living, two gigs per month are what we are all happy with, any more and it almost becomes a job and we all have other things going on in our lives. I think your comments in paragraph three are a bit out of order, we have confidence, flexibility and certainly musical ability through many years of playing live in various bands, we rehearse regularly to ensure we are as tight as can be when we go out and perform. Our guitarist is known as one of the better ones in our area and actually is in high demand for a lot of depping work, which he does a fair bit of.
  8. I really cannot understand a band booking a gig if everyone is not available in the first place, totally understand using deps to cover unforeseen circumstances when is gig is committed to. Our drummer always takes a couple of weeks holiday in August every year, this year he has not booked the actual dates as yet, I will not commit the band to any dates in August, even though we have the option of a very experienced dep, the band will never feel 100% tight unless we have all our regular members playing. Our band just do a couple of gigs per month which is mainly for pleasure, being in a pro band, I can see the situation as being different.
  9. I think it’s really poor that these artists charge top dollar for their concerts and perform as described above by Paul S, an absolute rip off, no wonder tribute acts are doing so well, when they are now often better than the original acts that cant cut it anymore.
  10. The vocalist has a great voice, reminds me of Heart.
  11. Doctor Feelgood Queen Doctor and the Medics Doctor John
  12. Aweful gig last night in St Ives, our band was well off form, everyone in the band had bad colds and coughs, our vocalist was really struggling and we had to drop a few songs. Venue owner and the punters enjoyed it, just goes to show they don’t pick up on the well below par performance.
  13. That would have been a P45 for her, straight after that gig.👎
  14. Recorded by the venue, sound a bit woolly in places. Pro drummer on the kit, anyone recognise him (now without hair) ?
  15. Incorrect quote, not me who said that, nowt wrong with our drummer.
  16. Can’t understand why you are still playing with those guys for just 4 or 5 gigs per year, find yourself another band that will give you more enjoyment.
  17. Guitarist (last night rehearsal) - that songs a bit short, let’s add another guitar solo.
  18. Right about the YouTube stuff, just out of interest I banged in Wishing Well by Free and some guys on there are playing the main riff in a weird position at the top of the neck with lots of open strings, the correct positioning is around the 5th and 7th frets etc.
  19. This will be the next new one to learn for our set, can’t wait to get cracking on with it.
  20. Rocky Mountain Way - Joe Walsh Johnnie Walker Show currently being hosted by Tom Robinson.
