  1. A very large Red Indians home 😀
  2. We as a band have decided not to incorporate any Cyril Smith tunes in our set.
  3. Unfortunately it’s retail in general, music stores included. I and probably a lot of folks on here are all as guilty for purchasing via the internet.
  4. Not sure any of his songs would fit in with our genre and set list, so not something we would need to consider.
  5. Ultimate-Guitar.com
  6. I wished I hadn’t done this, I now have serious ringing in my ears, tinnitus.👎
  7. Stray were my best pals favourite band when we were 14 years old, I’m pretty sure they are based in the Herts/Beds area.
  8. What a cracking bass tone.
  9. You must be depping, if it’s the first gig and you haven’t met them yet.😀
  10. Never, both my MM’s only have 4 strings.
  11. You beat me to it, Colin has been doing this for years.
  12. I have to agree with some of the posters on here that if all the PA was there, surely someone from either of the three bands could have sorted out something sound wise to allow all the bands to play. A basic set up would have carried things through, instruments through the back line and just use the in house PA for the vocals, simples. The only thing I can assume that stopped the gig, was the venue owner probably didn’t want anyone other than the usual sound person touching the equipment.
  13. Folks on here are assuming the “sound person” was there just to manage the desk, it could have been the case that person also provides the actual PA, if that was the case then the booked bands were definitely in the sh*te and had no option. Maybe the original poster could clarify it for us.
  14. I personally have not had a lot of joy with them, the folks at ACS have been very helpful, initially got the 17’s, couldn’t hear my bass, changed them for 15’s, same problem, changed again for 10’s being sure these would definitely do the job, can only just hear my bass but not enough to feel comfortable playing live. I had a free hearing test when I had the earplugs moulded and there is no issue with my hearing.
  15. Unfortunately, another load of gear left in a vehicle.
  16. Bert Weedon - Play in a Day
  17. This song makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, just love it.
  18. This lot are top class.
  19. Cloudbusting, that is awesome, very high end tribute band. What a buzz it must be to play in a band of that quality, total respect.
  20. Pished landlords are a bad sign IMHO, usually equals a badly run pub full of like minded clientele.
  21. My old pal Paul Henderson doing a bit of Bowie at the Hansa Studios.
  22. I did state we play for pleasure and don’t do it for a living, two gigs per month are what we are all happy with, any more and it almost becomes a job and we all have other things going on in our lives. I think your comments in paragraph three are a bit out of order, we have confidence, flexibility and certainly musical ability through many years of playing live in various bands, we rehearse regularly to ensure we are as tight as can be when we go out and perform. Our guitarist is known as one of the better ones in our area and actually is in high demand for a lot of depping work, which he does a fair bit of.
