  1. A few top guys used to rock up at live pub gigs around our way - Colin Hodgkinson Boz Burrell Don Airey
  2. Found the guitar episode a good watch. They featured quite a few effects pedals/units and how these were used by certain players for their individual sound, one effect that was overlooked and preceded the analogue/digital delays, was the Wem Copycat, really deserved a mention.
  3. Also has a good taste regarding cars.
  4. Could have been worse, if you lent it to Sid Vicious, would have been covered in gob 😀
  5. The North East is a very good area for Free or Bad Company tribute bands, very strong following of both bands, they hold a Free Convention around the Newcastle area every year.
  6. We had ex Status Quo drummer Jeff Rich in our Free tribute band and we also played support to a Wishbone Ash gig, snap, in a strange sort of way.
  7. A few years ago, we had the opportunity to play at Rhodes Rock in Lindos with our Free tribute band, unfortunately we had to turn it down, as our guitarist was a teacher and he couldn’t get the time off in term time ☹️
  8. Reminds me of the Space Invaders game in the late 70’s.
  9. Yeh, but you were already on that slippery slope 😀
  10. Absolute respect to you guys, excellent band with great vocals (not forgetting bass), I would definitely pay to see the band perform. 👍
  11. Our old vocalist from our rock band in the 80’s and good friend Paul Henderson has been doing his Aladdin Sane with his band and is widely regarded as being one of the top Bowie tribute acts, I would think you probably know of him and his band.
  12. Up our way there are venues that specialise in having soul/funk discos, I would rather go to one of them anytime over watching a crap live band.
  13. And goes by the name of Tom Pepper 😀
  14. One version is the official single version and the one with the added guitar before the bass run is the album version, you takes your choice as both are correct, in our Free tribute band, we always played the longer album version.
  15. Enjoyed the programme with the exception of the final section from Peter Hook and synth bass etc, that stuff does not personally float my boat.
  16. Put it on the river and row it to a gig😀
  17. For those who missed it like me, it’s repeated tonight on BBC4 at thirty minutes past midnight.
  18. Playing a gig several years ago in a Free tribute band, midway through the set, the venue owner comes up to us and asks if we do any Phil Collins.
  19. As long as you weren’t trying to play over the verses, you can be forgiven 🚫
  20. Same monitors as ours, by the way.
  21. Got one of their albums - It’s A Beautiful Day At The Carnegie Hall (Live) from 1972. They we’re known for their song “White Bird”
