  1. Up our way there are venues that specialise in having soul/funk discos, I would rather go to one of them anytime over watching a crap live band.
  2. And goes by the name of Tom Pepper 😀
  3. One version is the official single version and the one with the added guitar before the bass run is the album version, you takes your choice as both are correct, in our Free tribute band, we always played the longer album version.
  4. Enjoyed the programme with the exception of the final section from Peter Hook and synth bass etc, that stuff does not personally float my boat.
  5. Put it on the river and row it to a gig😀
  6. For those who missed it like me, it’s repeated tonight on BBC4 at thirty minutes past midnight.
  7. Playing a gig several years ago in a Free tribute band, midway through the set, the venue owner comes up to us and asks if we do any Phil Collins.
  8. As long as you weren’t trying to play over the verses, you can be forgiven 🚫
  9. Same monitors as ours, by the way.
  10. Got one of their albums - It’s A Beautiful Day At The Carnegie Hall (Live) from 1972. They we’re known for their song “White Bird”
  11. Didn’t realise Sheila E was 61, she looks fab.
  12. Really enjoyed the Stewart Copeland episode on drums, well put together programme. Sheila E was great.
  13. The list is the bands and players that I was really into, Van Der Graff Generator didn’t really float my boat. Steve Knight from Mountain is one I forgot, the keyboard on Nantucket Sleighride is awesome.
  14. Massive fan of the Hammond, many bands I was into in the 70’s, prog etc, I would particularly look at album covers and if the band used a Hammond, it would usually result in a purchase. Don Airey - Rainbow etc Gregg Allman - Allman Bros Rod Argent - Argent Brian Auger - Oblivion Express Tony Banks - Genesis Pete Bardons - Camel John Evan - Jethro Tull Georgie Fame Matt Fisher - Procol Harum Dave Greenslade - Greenslade Ken Hensley - Uriah Heep Tony Kaye - Badger Ray Manzarek - The Doors Ian McLagen - The Faces Gregg Rolie - Santana Dave Sinclair - Caravan Dave Stewart - Egg Manfred Mann - Earthband Steve Winwood - Traffic
  15. Man, I just love the Doobies in all their incarnations, would definitely be in my top ten of my all time favourite bands.
  16. Available from all Ann Summers stores 😀
  17. Surely better to have a great vocalist and frontman, Mr Mercury to name just one.
  18. I like Madness but find Suggs is a vocalist of very limited talent, he’s a talking type singer.
