  1. The hinges would look better if they weren’t painted over.
  2. Really like the bass line on Disco Inferno by The Trammps, if I knew how to embed the YouTube video on here I would.
  3. That covers band Enigma have changed their name to The Bletchley Circle, now doing all original stuff, but not many people can work it out.
  4. Good luck with it, lucky you only have to learn just one song for it.
  5. Victor Wotten playing with The Edge, should be interesting.
  6. Just put Walking in the Shadow of the Blues in our set, cracking song.
  7. What !! better than Frampton, can’t agree on that one.
  8. It would have been good to see pictures of some of the hot rods present.
  9. My main bass is a MM Stingray, just purchased the Sub as a back up bass.
  10. Just done a spur of the moment purchase tonight, just ordered one in Walnut with a Rosewood neck from Andertons, free gig bag thrown in for a delivered price of £320.11.
  11. Jealous Guy by Roxy Music, far better than original John Lennon version. Corrected - Doh.
  12. I personally prefer Gladys Knight voice to Aretha, it’s more soulful, Aretha at times was very shrieky.
  13. Yeh, remember him, the Asian guy with the baseball cap, that Rod Stewart band were so tight.
  14. I’m of the opinion, if you are a covers band, you play songs exact or very near to the original. If you are covering a really well known song that has a specific riff or solo i.e. Black Dog, Walk This Way etc, it needs to be bang on IMO.
  15. A bit of music trivia regarding Rod Stewart’s guitarists. I’m pretty sure Robin Le Mesurier (son of John Le Mesurier, Sergeant Wilson Dads Army and Hattie Jacques, Carry on Films) replaced Gary Grainger in the band, the other mainstay guitarist was Jim Cregan.
  16. One of my all time bands, they played at the very first Knebworth Festival in 1973, it was a joy to see them live. Devon (son of Gregg) Allman and his band with Duane ( son of Dicky) Betts are doing a few dates in the UK in September.
  17. Strider, one of my favourite bands at the time, very underrated. A very good guitarist in the band called Gary Grainger, went on to play with lots of big names as a session player and tours.
  18. Blimey, that’s a lot of gigs, you must be pro, surely you don’t have a day job and manage nearly three gigs average a week as a hobby.
  19. I don’t. My volume pot on my bass is always set full on whether I play with my fingers or a pick.
  20. I have Live Catfish in my vinyl collection, great bluesy album from 1971. To my recollection the family members in the band were the brothers Bob and Dallas Hodge.
  21. We have just kicked it out of our set, hoorah, two minutes of boring playing for me and didn’t really fit in with the rest of our set. Replacing it with Turn the Page by Metallica. Our band age ranges from 51 to 62.
