1. Burn him with fire!
2. Having just fitted a '62 CS pickup to one of my basses, I'm hoping the correct answer to the OP is 'another one'.
3.
Sounds grim to be sure. I think we're lucky in this day and age that all but the most comically inexpensive basses are more often than not, well built, reliable and playable instruments.
Two words: Rickenbackers.
4. I had a Squier Silver Series Jazz that was like this when I bought it. It never got any worse, but it used to rub the skin off my thumb!
5. I have one of these for my main guitar pedal board - room for loads of m pedals plus the power supply tucks away underneath.
6. It's rare to see a 3-pickup bass. Godin brought one out a few years ago but I have never got my mitts on one.
7. I have done Lyneham, Brize Norton, and Cirencedter. At Brize we were booked by someone who had seen the band at a pub. A couple of random points: (1) The band is a noise in the corner while the audience gat hammered and cop off with that night's shag; (2) You need to have photo ID and send vehicle details in advance so that the guard house can be notified. Allow extra time for the faffage involved.
8. Hmmm... If I wanted to restore punch I would replace the Jazz with a Precision. You can make a P sound nasal but it's much easier with a J!
9. I tried a Thunderbird at the last SE Bass Bash and rather liked it, but not enough to tempt me away from Precisions.
10.
I'd add Demeter as simple and very good sounding. It isn't a DB750..but it more than holds its own in the lightweights takes, IMO. Having said that..I wouldn't be offended at a 20lb amp and would consider that a decent weight.
Obviously I'm going to say +1 to this. 5 knobs, 3 switches - set and forget.
11. Quick and dirty calculation: You need to know the voltage that the original bulb worked at (call it 'V') and the current through the LED required to give a good strong output (call it 'I'). The resistance R that you need for the series resistor is found by R=V/I. That will get you in the ballpark.
12. The only way I can imagine of a guitar damaging a bass rig would be if you fed a heavily distorted sound through a cab with a tweeter - the increased high frequency content could fry the tweeter. Otherwise nothing to worry about. Whether you would like the sound is a different matter.
13. The Streamliner has side ventilation so you would have to remove it from its bag before use. I'm another laptop bag user - they can be picked up for about £10 new, £6 used.
14. Paul, here's an offer for you: If you are playing somewhere between Banbury and Swindon (say Oxford, Chipping Norton etc) and I'm free, I'll bring my amps and cabs for you to play through (see signature but ignore Markbass practice amp!) PM me if interested. Also have you thought of going to the SE Bass Bash? You could probably try 20 rigs there with no obligation to buy!
15. I always call first anyway if I'm going to a specialist shop as I want to be sure the object of my GAS is in stock. There are other successful dealers that operate this way - Guitars 4 You, Andy Baxter. Pretty sure I'll be back to Bassgear!
16. Spent a few bob in there myself in recent years I've had the email but the links don't seem to work. EDIT: Can still get on the site the usual way.
17. My top tip contribution - well, Todd Johnson's:
18. Took this to trade in on another guitar, but none of those I tried would have justified spending more money. WITHDRAWN
19. He hasn't put his name down but I am currently planning to travel with andyonbass. He has just put the fretted neck back on his ACG, and has recently acquired a Handbox amp to go with his TKS cabs, so I expect they will be making an appearance!
20.
I absolutely love the sonic blue precision!

Yup, lovely collection, but all about that Sonic Blue AVRI Si
Lush ain't it?
21. TBH unless I am 100% devoted to the subject matter I tend to pick up this sort of nook cheap at The Works!

I have tried it at home with my nylon-string electro-acoustic and it worked very well. I would certainly use that setup for an acoustic gig. Haven't tried it with steel-string acoustic yet.
23. Dave bought a pedal from me, paid promptly once the deal was done, and kept me posted about the, er, post.
24.
There was an ad in JMB & Gumtree local, for a balding, talentless, one legged knob headed bass player with eff all charisma, zilch ability, sh*te gear, no pets, and a sister on the game. You know what happend next..
How long did you stay with them?
