1.
I haven't spent years learning to play and thousands of pounds on quality gear to play for a laugh....
There's the rub!
2. Deposit received so SOLD
3.
Really tempted by this, but I hate black on basses!
4. I have an E-Bow - works great on guitar, pants on bass!
5. Seems like a refinement of the E-Bow.
6. The top-hat mountings suggest they are indeed PA speakers.
7.
Shocking! I thought everyone who picked up a bass as a kid would have played just a bit of it (even just the once).
I never really played it until a recent dep job!
8. All my basses have Schaller strap-locks, except for the Sandberg, which has clever strap buttons that work with or without a strap-lock. Single Comfort Strapp for them all, spare wide leather strap just in case.

10. 'Rodent free'? Hmmm... I've known mice to make nests inside speaker cabs, and guess where they get the paper from!
11. David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust - title track of the first album I actually loved as an album, not just a bunch of songs. The Sex Pistols - God Save the Queen - heard in a record shop listening-booth - hairs stood up on the back of my neck, the purchase was made. Van Morrison - Astral Weeks - made me realise there was a whole world of beautiful music that wasn't just 'rock'. Bob Dylan - House of the Rising Sun - first song I ever learned on the guitar, from the version on his debut album. The Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter - in a small way, helped me realise I had to part company with Christianity
12. You know a new bass is good when. . . you look up and realise you've been playing for an hour and a half.
13. Compressed BUMP
14. I keep coming back to this and I don't even like Jazz basses!
15. I use these on my guitar board - utterly transparent, and can be made up to the exact length required. Have a bump on me!
16.
Same for me on the SP Comp. Too much bass roll off. Hissy at higher settings too.
This would be for skinny-string guitar. Probably want to try it first - that and the SL drive
17.
Not our drummer, carpet or stage but you get the idea.
Disappointed on 3 counts there!
18. I spend a lot of time playing through the smallest version of my live rig, alongside tracks coming through my studio speakers. I can be fairly confident that my sound will fit well in the mix, but sometimes find myself dialling in a bit more top end live, depending on the cab(s) I am using, the loudness of the ban overall, and of course the room.
19. The Xotic SP Compressor also has a blend control. I am seriously pondering one, but I think I will have to wait till next Saturday to go down to Anderton's and try one out.
20. Yep, I tried one of these (Dave Swift's I'm told) at the same time as I bought my Demeter. It probably had the edge on the Demeter in the awesomeness stakes, but would have cost a fair bit more to buy with a Minnie 800W power amp, and it wouldn't have made the most convenient package for live use!
