I will be rejoining my old band MonkeyDolls at the Eight Bells in Fairford (Gloucestershire) tomorrow night (Friday 20th June). The music is a mix of modern rock and indie, with a few old classics thrown in. I shall mainly be rocking my '73 P through my Ampeg/Barefaced rig. The music starts at 9pm, so if you are local-ish (and not out gigging yourself), come and say hello before, between, or after our rocktastic sets.

Could still be worth buying rather than hiring - buy at £150, sell at £100, job done.
-
They will be about 100W RMS each. Fine for shocking audio quality at a street party I'm sure
Yes, especially if they all end up sounding the same!
Just put flats on them all. Apparently.

Must be loads of bass-playing Jim Elliotts in London mind

If you don't want to do this (e.g. vintage pedal), get a pedal boot.
I have a similar issue with my metal-tastic flying V bass. I was wondering about going with a treble bleed capacitor on the volume control but i also wondered if its possible to reposition the cap on the tone to cut bass instead of treble?
Treble bleed caps can be great on skinny-string guitars, but I've yet to hear of anyone getting them to work well with basses. Yes you can create a passive bass control, like this on a G&L bass. I use mine at about 80% just to tame the pickup's mahoosiveness a little!
My theory is that the orange isobaric cabs are lacking in the bottom octave, something you wont really notice when standing close to the cab - it may sound "full and deep" up close but not projecting the lows any distance.
Is there anyone out there with first-hand (i.e. gigging) experience of Orange isobarics, who is able to confirm or refute this?

Yep, plenty of micro heads popping up used, just buy 'em, try 'em, sell 'em on if you don't like 'em - you won't lose much doing that.

Anyone for a REAL Pino Bass????
JapanAxe replied to Chiliwailer's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Hmmm... New King's Road are somewhat 'speculative' in their pricing, but should still fetch a good sum. -
Mike bought my Pedaltrain, paid promptly and kindly left me feedback as soon as he received it.
-
If it were mine I would fix it (or get it fixed). I'm sure there's still a lot of love for these, and being a lighter-weight non-sleeved version, it kind of muscles in on the micro-head action too.

That was mostly guff.

Are there any Midget owners near you Lewis? Happy to meet up in the interests of bassology if you are near me, or maybe you could attend a Bass Bash?
Poke the last bit of the cable through the cab handle to take the stress off the amp's input socket
This. And tuck the other end through your strap. and use a right-angled plug at the bass end.
Doesn't it? I was never keen on Bravewood - I always thought they looked like they'd been nibbled by rodents.
Many people are unware of their patent Rodetn Nibbling Process™.
I use switch cleaner what I do is take the knob off the pot and then I use a tight fitting length of clear plastic tubing put that over the pot shaft to form a tight fit then give it several smallish blasts of the cleaner down the tube them I remove the tube turn the pot from left to right a few times and you will feel it become easier to turn and then I just repeat the process again if needed
I prefer to get to the back of the pot by removing the top of the case or whatever. Most pots have a little indent on the edge of the back surface, and this is the opening into which I insert the switch cleaner applicator tube. Some pots incorporate a lubricant to allow the shaft to move freely (please - save it for OT!), and if you spray switch-cleaner in at the front where the shaft emerges from the threaded portion, you risk washing away that lube. (IIRC, Alesis specifically warn against this. )
