1. The loop part sticks very firmly. I can pick up the board by 2 pedals. To remove a pedal I gradually slide an old credit card between the two parts of the Velcro. The issue is always pedals with rubber on the bottom. If there are feet on the corners I pull them off and stick the hook Velcro to the painted metal. If there is a rubber base that I don't want to remove, I often cut the Velcro oversize, loosen the pedal's base plate, and tuck the Velcro ends in before tightening up the screws and clamping it in place. Alternatively for my vintage 80s pedals, I use a pedal boot screwed to the board: http://www.acdguitars.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=67
2. I had a Tribute L2000 that was excellent. I only sold it because I had one of those 'I need a change' GAS episodes. I now have a USA L1505. It sounds monstrous, but it is a bit of a beast to tame. Despite it being strung with flats, I have to be really careful with my left hand damping to make sure unwanted 5th-fret harmonics don't ring out.
3. I think I used this when I needed extra for my PT2.

5. After a bit of Googling, it seems 'pentamorous' is a mis-spelling of 'pentamerous', meaning divided into 5 parts. The supertonic note is the next note up from the tonic. In the full major or minor, and the pentatonic major, this will be a whole step up from the key note, e.g. D in C major or C minor. In the pentatonic minor, the supertonic will be a minor 3rd up, e.g. C in Am.
6. Come to the West Sussex Mini Bass Bash on 31st August and politely ask to try as many rigs as you can throughout the day. If you want to try any of my kit, or any of your kit combined with any of my kit, PM me to arrange a Swindon micro-bass-bash(TM).
7.
As I said, I don't plan on just sawing the cab in half ...................... I plan on sawing it half, whilst standing on one stilt, holding a pig under my arm which is playing the 'Dukes of Hazzard' theme on a banjo, and I'd better do it quick as after 60 seconds all the pyrotechnics are rigged to go off!
I would pay good money to see that!
8.
Hmmm, I'm not explaining my question well enough clearly. If we leave personal preference out of the equation, and to a certain extent the chain order, what I'm asking is because a mfx is more integrated than say four (for example) separate fx pedals that may or may not use different styles and types of chipsets to acheive the desired effects, will the same chain order on both mfx and separate fx units yield the same results or be different. Just navel gazing really, and definitely not a question about personal preferences. Cheers Pete
The same. The odd one out is fuzz - particularly germanium fuzz, which tends to sound bad after other pedals. There's a big article on the subject in this month's guitarist. This issue is unlikely to affect the 'fuzz' in a multi-fx, as it's often just a high-gain distortion (or model thereof), and there will be a input buffer on the multi-fx unit anyway.

10. Gareth bought a Korg Pandora from me, no messing and good communications. Cheers!
11. I have a DOD FX65 chorus, and I run that at 12V to give the delay chip a bit more headroom. I'm not sure there would be any benefit to the chips in the Meatbox - anyone know by looking at this pic?
12. Somebody has had a go at removing the black gunk from the components, so maybe we will see a schematic online soon.
13.
Gigrig Generator and Distributors will fit under too.

Not sure if the Gigrig does...isn't it huge?

Gigrig fits for sure, here's a shot of the underneath of my friends board
The Generator is similar in size to a laptop power unit. One of the things I like about it, and that the Cioks has also got going for it, is that the mains cable detaches. It's a standard IEC 'kettle' lead on the Generator. I hate having to coil up trailing cables that are attached to stuff!
14. The Digitech Bass Synth Wah seems to be a bit of a bargain. I am trying to stay way from pedals on bass though
15. Some multi-FX units allow you to change the order of effects. Some don't, but they are usually in a sensible order.
16.
I spent 5 years playing Dire Straits songs in a tribute band...
HEY EVERYONE, THAT JON SMITH GUY USED TO PLAY IN A TRIBUTE BAND!!!
17. A band I was in used to play a cover of Right Said Fred's 'Deeply Dippy, and come the brass break, the guitarist and I would both whip out kazoos to play it. Oh how the audience laughed, or perhaps would have done if they had found it as amusing as we did.
18.
I would guess that the output transistors had gone down putting DC voltage straight through to the speakers.
That would certainly do it!
19. I tend to put photos I want to share in the Public area of my Dropbox folder - if I put them in the Photo part, the links ask people for a password!
20.
How's this going to differ from the usual format? We'll plug this at the Herts Bash too and hope that we can raise the numbers too...
I rather like the 'usual format' but I'm open to others too.
21. THREAD RESURRECTION ALERT! On a whim I had a play along to Sultans last night - that is a much clankier P sound than I had imagined/remembered! Had a look on OGWT and he is playing a natural/rosewood/tort P. In the car today I was stuck in traffic long enough to listen to the whole of the 'Live at the BBC' recording - not sure why that tone works but it does, I would have gone for something with much less treble. If the opportunity arises maybe I will dare to turn the tone up on the bass. And yes, Marquee Moon is a masterpiece.
22. Of course this is completely different from boy racers lighting up the road underneath their hot hatchbacks.
