1.
PRS are 25" bang on, supposed to be compromise between the two but I'm a 25.5" scale guy - less cramped! Check out the G&L Tribute Fiorano.
I have a PRS McCarty gold-top (with P90s) and it really does cover the ground between Fender and Gibson. If I could only take one guitar to play a rock gig, a pop gig, and a country gig, that would be the one.
 2. Some pics of the bass and the suggested new parts might help.
 3. FURTHER PRICE DROP Now £210 shipped within UK.
 4. Forgot to mention, also included is the GK5C cable (cost £35 on its own new!)
 5. Nice to see you again Stuart, even if McDonald's was closed for a refurb and we had to make do with Sainsbury's cafe!
 6. SOLD The dirty deed is scheduled for 10am tomorrow at a secret location
 7. Don't see why that wouldn't work. Back in the day, bass players just plugged into 100W or 200W Marshalls with 4x12 cabs. Just be wary of too much gain as that will probably compromise the fullness of the bottom end (fnar fnar).
 8. The answer is in the question! Most cabs are 8 ohm. A head that will deliver 500W into 4 ohm will give more like 300W into 8 ohm, so that would be your minimum power for a single 8 ohm cab. Get a second one if you want to extract full power and a 'bigger' sound.
 9. Ooh... Varies a lot. Sometimes mojo is engaged from the get-go (please address all complaints to the management), sometimes barely at all. Very much related to how we perceive the audience methinks.
 10. Marcus, perhaps you can ease your pain with a Tanglewood Rebel 4k... Or perhaps not
 11. Never had this problem but solely use Macs (ooh that warm feeling of smug self-righteousness - almost like being a cyclist!)
 12. I found it a bit annoying to start with but soon found it un-put-down-able. Of especial interest to those with relatives suffering from Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, strokes, and goodness-knows-what. Re EDIT: enjoy!
 13.
yeah line out from the 1x15 into the 4x10. it was heard 100 yds away.. my friend said as he came back into the building afterhours and could hear me from the main road! huge success!
Aarrgh! A 'smile' on the graphics. Sorry but did you use your ears or your eyes to set that!?
 14. I would GAS after one of these if it were not for the stripes in the hedstock. WAY too 80s!
 15. At this point may I recommend the book Musicophilia by Oliver Sachs. It seems music is a key function of the human brain, with the power to access other...bits.
 16. Erm... I took a look at the website, but I'm still not clear what material is being used.
 17.
I used to have a Hartke Pro 4200 cab which was enormous and weighed a ton and had a rather daft design flaw where the handles had raised, embossed logos on them which left said logo imprinted on your hand when you carried it anywhere.
Now that's product placement!
 18. In case anyone is interested, when I was in Crack Converters in Salisbury at the weekend, they had a blue Stagg EUB for £249. Didn't try it but looked in good nick, complete with gig bag. I am not affiliated to Crack Converters etc...
 19.
If I had the cash it'd be great with my OBT
Dude, get some cash!
 20. Arguably Roland's two best guitar synths were the GR30 and the GR33. Later versions simply dumbed down the concept for technophobic guitarists. This GR30 guitar synth served me well in my function band days. Package includes the following:

GR30 floor unit (obviously) including 384 sounds to work with.
Original box.
Manual.
Genuine Roland power adaptor.
Expression pedal - can be assigned to various parameters.
Bank up/down pedal (saves having to fiddle about with shift functions).
CD containing GR30 editor freeware (works up to Windows XP, don't know about later versions of Windows), manual, quick start guide.
To use the unit, you will need a guitar equipped with a 13-pin synth pickup, e.g.:

Roland GR-ready Strat
Godin guitar with synth access
Brian Moore guitar with synth socket
Any steel-string guitar with a GK2 or GK2A pickup
There are many resources available on the web for this synth. NB: -

If you have a Casio synth guitar with a standard MIDI socket, you would be better off using a GM synth module, as you will not be able to access many of the functions of this unit;
The unit will not work with a bass guitar (so don't even think about it!)
I m looking for £185 delivered within the UK.
 21. Still up for grabs and open to sensible offers. Derisory offers wil initially be treated with the utmost contempt, then I'll go back and say 'Hmmm...' If you would rather not do bank transfer, I am happy to accept regular PayPal (i.e I pay the fees).
 22. Serious enquiry received from a BC mate but nothing firm yet so still up for grabs and open to sensible offers!
