As others have said, it all comes down to what was agreed beforehand. I have actually paid a dep [i]more[/i] than the other band members (including myself), in recognition of the fact that he was a professional making a living at it (unlike the rest of us) and was saving our bacon.

It's been widely commented on already in this forum and elsewhere, but TC's model numbers do not relate directly to the output power when measured conventionally. Some of their kit has built-in tricks to make it sound louder (it works!) - this is the case for the 450s and 750, not sure whether it applies to the 250 and 50 models.

Kids grown up and gone, working 4 days a week in my day job, so I manage: - My own band - My own other band (same guys so no clashes) - A 7-piece soul band (only works occasionally and has plenty deps to call on) - Various deps So basically 3 bands, or 2, depending on how you look at it.

Well sort of... I had an ABM500 1x15 combo and 1x15 cab, and switched to a TC Classic 450 and Barefaced Midget and Compact. No regrets. The Classic is a dumbed-down version of the RH 450 (no memories, no tuner, fixed EQ frequencies). It's plenty loud, so the 750 should be er... 300 louder. I did look into the RS cabs but decided to go for lighter weight. According to TC you can run up to 3 8-ohm RS cabs from one of their heads (but only 2 'other' cabs). EDIT: Worth considering a mix of cabs to give yourself more options for different venues / rehearsal / home use. **stands back to allow RS cab owners to have their say**

[/quote] I have adopted this too since seeing a video on Scott's Bass Lesson's - one of those lightbulb moments. At the same time I switched to a floating thumb / curved fingers right-hand approach, keeping the the right wrist straight rather than sharply angled over the top of the bass. Took some getting used to but feels completely natural now. I can't see how a classical position when seated would be of benefit - the whole thing becomes irrelevant when you stand up.

Most bands are [i]de facto[/i] partnerships, making the members jointly and severally liable for the band's debts etc. It also means you can all be considered to have joint ownership of all the kit you use! However, you can draw up an agreement to make things less onerous on the individual members. If you are in the Musicians' Union, check their advice on this. If you are not in the MU, it is worth joining for a number of reasons, including £10,000,000 public liability insurance and access to free legal advice.
