2. The position of your volume control means little on its own. In a not-especially-loud country band, it is normal for me to have the volume of my Demeter at 11 or 12 o'clock. There is extra volume available if I want it, and/or I can add a second cab. Or I can turn down!
3. Won't the pedalboard just roll around the stage when you tread on a pedal?
4.
No apology necessary. I could still be quite wrong, of course. We really need a Bowie nerd to chime in...
I'm a Bowie nerd and I own a Mustang, but I feel I've rather blown my cred on this one...
5.
Ah, don't be a wet blanket. You know how we like to endlessly blather on about 'tone', only to make a sound like a badger farting in a biscuit tin...
Farting badger? Biscuit tin? How the hell did you find out!
6. Before everyone gets too excited, the OP will be doing this on a gig. Unless the sound is wildly inappropriate (say mega-scooped active Jazz), will anyone really notice in the live mix?
7. Great little amps (although not everyone's cuppa), to me it sounds best when you're getting to the end of the valves' clean range without the sound actually becoming obviously distorted.
8. The only bass sale I regret at all was my CIJ '62 RI Precision in Fiesta Red. I bought a Sandberg VM4 and suddenly the P seemed superfluous. There is a sort of happy ending though, as I now have a CIJ '57 RI P in CAR/anodised, and have done the upgrades on it that I should really have done on the Fiesta one!
9. Very nice! I have a 1973 with maple fretboard, and a faded sonic blue '63 reissue, and this combines the best of both!
10. On a dep gig: watch the singer, listen to the drummer.
11. Yep, handing these over to a BC member this Saturday for purposes which I cannot as yet disclose.
12. I had the 5-string version (L1505) and it was a cracking bass! GLWTS
13.
Wow! These speakers are the doggies danglies, mighty kind of you to give them away.
Sadly Mrs Axe's plans for our living room do not allow for their awesomeness, and I will be off to Richer Sounds before long to get a decent pair of bookshelf speakers. With so many households moving over to iPod docks and computer streaming doodads, I didn't think there would be much demand for big boxes like these, and we do need them gone - hence the rather low price!
14. Pair of Eltax Liberty floor-standing hi-fi speakers, rear ported, loud as you like, bases can be filled with dry sand (never got round to it!), free to any genuine Basschatter who can collect them from Oxford (working hours Mon-Thu) or Swindon (other times).
15. I had an SVT3-Pro and I would still have it if I could justify having a spare spare! Plenty of volume, just use the graphic set flat if you think you need more.
16. I went from Ashdown ABM to various other amp heads with Barefaced cabs. Everything has sounded good with BF cabs!
17. There appears to be a broken earth wire between the tone pot and the output socket.
18.
done, but we have the power to stop them, just don't use them, as with inflated ticket prices, supply and demand is what it's all about
I don't, I go and see tribute bands instead!
19.

Thank you!
