3.
Good book written by a great bass educator: https://www.amazon.c...35602286&sr=8-1 Starts you off from basics and will get you up and running in a Blues band in no time.
+1 to Ed Friedland. The examples are actual well-known blues numbers.
4. I confess I used to be a bit snobby towards Zoom, but one of the guitarists in one of my bands uses a Zoom (G5 I think) and it sounds phenomenal.
5. Go to gigs and introduce yourself to them in the break. Give them your card. Get a free website and big yourself up on it.
6. Lovely! By contrast I have a black Duo Jet:
7. Description This 1U multi-effect unit from Boss features analog overdrives and distortions, digital delay, reverb, and modulation effects, and COSM amp and speaker simulation. There are instrument inputs front and rear, a mono series/parallel fx loop with level control, and stereo outputs. There are 100 user and 100 preset memory locations, and fx blocks can be combined in any order, making this a very flexible device. There is a large backlit display, and the menus are easy to access. To me the only 'hard' part of editing occurs when setting up external foot-switches and continuous controllers, the rest is pretty much a doddle. The unit can be set up to run into the front of an amp, the fx loop, or both(!), or into full-range speakers. Although originally intended as a guitar processor, there is plenty here for the bass player too - compression/limiting, octave (up as well as down), fuzz, drives, delays, reverbs etc. Condition I gigged this for 3-4 years, in which time it was kept in a rack case. It is in very good condition - the display, data wheel and all sockets work fine, except for a bit of a crackle when first inserting a jack into the front input (after which it gives no trouble). It has since been in my home studio, working as a recording front-end. There are a few scratches on the case from jack plugs, otherwise cosmetic condition is good. The unit comes complete in its original box with Boss BRC power supply and user manual - you can easily find a pdf of this online too, or I can email one to you if you like. Price and trades I am using plugins more now, and as ever I have my eye on something else, so it's time for the GX700 to go. I am looking for £90 with insured UK delivery. You might find one for less on eBay, but not in this condition, boxed etc. I am happy to consider trades via PM - hit me up as they say!
8. Maybe something like this - mid-heavy overdriven amp?
9. Now just £12 delivered!

11. I believe the OP is referring to the 'and' of the 4.
12. Let's not forget heft. Actually, yes, let's forget heft.
13. I had flats (Chromes) on my G&L L1505 (now owned by Pinball) and they worked great, loads of top end when you wanted it. Didn't like Cobalts though, they felt like half-rounds and sounded like rounds!
14.
I could be tempted with late 60's or early 70's Precisions as part payment if anyone is interested...
Why did you have to say that!
15. That's it for now, might put some JJ EL84 pairs up when I get round to testing them!
16. Pretty sure a couple of BC members have PF50s, just can't remember their user names! I was toying with the idea of a PF50 until the pound/euro rate pushed the prices up. Now I'm waiting for them to appear in BC marketplace...
