1. Debut outing for my latest project, EPIC - 'the biggest, brashest and boldest rock songs of all time, played by some of the UK's best tribute musicians' (ahem!) We're a six-piece plus 2 backing singers, and we'll be playing those big production numbers that you don't hear in pubs... Tickets £8 in advance, £10 on the door. Between, you and me, I'm bricking it!

Dirt.

Do you even really want a dirt pedal for your bass, or is it just something you think you ought to have?
3. All PMs replied to, all complete sets sold pending, only one pair of Axtec buttons left (£3 delivered).
4. Having rationalised my guitar and bass straps, I now have available [s]5 complete sets of Schaller nickel-plated strap locks (product code 445), plus 2[/s] 1 pair[s]s[/s] of Schaller-compatible Axtec strap buttons. There is crossed-out writing on the packs where I have recorded which instruments they were fitted to, otherwise all sets are complete with screws and in excellent working condition. [s]The screws in the Schaller sets are all black, except for one set which are white metal (probably nickel-plate)- let me know if you have a preference.[/s] Prices: [s]Schaller straplock sets - £6 each[/s] Axtec strap button sets - £2 each Postage - add £1 per order
5. Hey Karl, if you want to buy back the CIJ '57 RI Precision (CAR/anodised) that I bought from you last June - sorry, I'm keeping it!
6.
The 414/415 have matching headstocks though!
Can't hear you! La la la la la! etc
7. If your budget will run to it (less than £300 delivered at DV247), try the Tech 21 Trademark 30 - the preamp has analog modelling (not digital) along the lines of their Sansamp GT2 pedal. It weighs just over 14lb, so pretty light.
8. The stripes of different-coloured wood visible on the face of the headstock - that's what puts me off, because I'm shallow.
9.

I quite like the look and concept of that bass - P-style pickup, short scale, nice colour. When I saw Mike Watt with the Stooges he was playing some kind of EB, which I've never really fancied. On NAMM and the whole 'new kit' thing, the trends I've seen in recent years are: (1) Cheaper knock-offs of famous pedals (e.g. Phase 90, Tube Screamer) in micro-size boxes; (2) Ever more far-out boutique pedals with (as far as I can see) very limited application, despite huge cost; and (3) Yet more (and presumably more accurate) digital modelling amps. Only (1) is of any interest to me (for guitar anyway), but I live in hope of a pleasant surprise...
10. Now just £50 delivered in mainland GB - come on people!

12. Is that a Boss VF-1 on top of your amp? I used to lust after one of those!
13. I use whichever bass seems right or sounds the best for the track, and adjust the passive tone control to suit. I'm currently enjoying the sounds I get plugging straight into my interface with no amp, simulated or otherwise.
