  1. Channel B of a Two Notes "Le Bass" could work well. Has controls for volume, gain, bass, treble, mid and sweepable mid frequency. Just set the gain where you want it (it'll do everything from clean to distortion) and level match against bypass with the volume control. Then there's channel A, and the Hot and Cold fusion modes, too.
  2. This may have changed my mind with regard to spares. I've never taken one before, and never needed one. I wouldn't be able to decide what to take. Except now I KNOW what to take. My Hohner B2AV. Compact, lightweight, plays well, sounds good. Leans against things without a stand. It has its own bag now...
  3. When I saw them (The first iteration of QOTSA, though) live in Islington (Many moons ago..) he had his guitar amp provide the front-end, and a power amp was slaved from that to power an Ampeg 8x10. Laying sideways on the floor under 2x Marshall cabs. Sounded immense. I had a guitarist use my Trace stack once. It was monstrous.
  4. Only 3 years to go until EBMM really ratchet up the price with a bunch of 50th Anniversary Models. Maybe a Sire isn't such a bad idea after all...
  5. Lovely things. But eye-wateringly expensive once you start adding options. I hit about $11,000 before shipping, import duty and VAT... Fortunately, I have (as yet!) no need of such an instrument, so if I had that kind of disposable income... Crikey. What couldn't I get?
  6. https://www.soundonsound.com/news/kemper-reveal-profiler-player New (posted recently elsewhere on here) €698. Only 4 slots, though.
  7. Can you describe the body shape or pickup layout? Since you're certain it wasn't an ASAT, it's unlikely to be Tele-Shaped.
  8. And that is altered by all sorts of weird variables (In my experience)
  9. Can't really blame Sire for going after new areas of the market. Derivative, but likely to be of relatively high quality. I'd not dismiss them too hastily (though I'm not in the market for a singlecut sixer) without trying them.
  10. @Shambo The Americans have station wagons with tonewood panels...
  11. Easily amended to read "Smoking", methinks!
  12. Nor did I. Eventually bought a Two Notes Le Bass. Better? It's like night and day.
  13. Worst; 2x Elites DBE strings for my Hohner B2AV. D and A strings manufactured too long. Known QC issue. The 2 sets are wholly different gauges and from different retailers. Bass Direct were great about it. Sent them back, and was refunded in 2 days. Strings Direct were not so good. So when I'm next in the vicinity, they'll be getting a visit. 😡
  14. (Trying not to repeat other, worthy suggestions) Strings A good, professional set-up. Tuition
  15. I'd have preferred 3 way, per the original. Or maybe parallel / single. Series pickups often sound "shouty" (Looking at you, Ibanez SRXs)
  16. I've had something similar. "Lead" guitarist was a lovely chap. Oodles of tasteful noodles, made the "Rhythm" player (& Songwriter) look a bit "Meh" at times, but it was never deliberate or malicious. "Rhythm's" innate jealousy eventually gets the better of him, and he fires "Lead". I wasn't consulted. Vocals was probably complicit, Drummer, though super, was a lap-dog. I felt it was unwarranted and unfair and quit as soon as I was told. Shame. The band had potential, but ultimately completely unraveled due to the personalities involved.
  17. Is adjustable within the confines of what the bridge can achieve. With saddles centred, Warwick say 16mm. TB suggests that it can be maxxed out to 17mm by adjusting the saddles as far as they'll go.
  18. It's a portmanteau of "Sorting Station"?
  19. Perhaps you need to discover the reason/s that they don't want to book any further gigs. Hopefully, it might not be as black and white as it sounds.
  20. That's what I bought the Two Notes "Le Bass" for. It does everything from clean/flat to raging distortion and all points in between. And it's footswitchable, because: pedal.
