Not quite sure I want to sell it but the appeal of the big stack is always there. When I really think about it the only time I have to move it on my own is the early hours, getting my gear from the van into the house. Could be I'm just a GAS addicted gear tart . PM's replied thanks folks, Karl.
Yip Karl I totally dig what your saying.... If the ampeg 4x10 was more portable then no way would I have shifted that with the B5R head I had. However The Orange 2x12 seems to do the lot. Maybe it doesnt have the same presence is the bigger cabs but it still sounds great with fantastic portability....
Immaculate as far as my eyes can tell. Considering selling as being in a pub rock band I can no longer take the merciless "brought you handbag with you". Love it to death, but it's replaced an SWR Goliath 111 and Son of Bertha. It just looks like there is nowt there now. No pictures until Thursday. £420 delivered within 60 mile radius of Wigan, cheapest I can see new about £550. Any questions, please ask. Edited for feedback.
Really surprised this hasn't been snapped up yet. I have one of these & I'd describe mine as a refined take on a Stingray. They have a really usable active EQ & one of the comfiest necks I've played. It's a bargain way to grab some UK-built Status quality - I put mine up for sale a while ago & withdrew it! Good luck with the sale & hope things work out... Cheers, B.
Thanks buddy, I appreciate it.
Still keen, just lacking the funds
Its just a shame I dont or at least cant justify the use of it. But I honestly wont use it with the other 2 basses that I have. My go to bass is now my Ric and the Jag is used from time to time. However in the last 2weeks I have had a major change in circumstance. This has caused me to stop playing in my band as of last night. So lets face it 3 basses is a tad overkill for a man that wont be playing at rehearsals or gigs for the foreseeable future Depending on how things go the other 2 may be up for sale at some point in the not so distant future.
ok cool. why do you have to do that though? im not well versed in the 'science', i just glaze over, but maybe i need to start paying attention.
to put it simple. stick the head at 8ohm selection.....plug in 1 8 ohm cab and you will get the full 500watt from the head. Plug in a 2nd 8ohm cab and you have trouble. stick the head to 4ohm selection....plug in 1 4ohm cab and get the full 500watt from the head......plug in a 2nd 4ohm cab and you have trouble.......or...... 1 8ohm cab and you get approx 250-300watt from the head......plug in a 2nd 8ohm cab and you get the full 500watt from the head.

the fella from Blind Faith, Rick Gretsch a think his name is. He uses this technique on the hyde park gig. But me being a rock/blues bassist, I just cant imagine not having the ability to do whatever I want on the bass. Now this fella is pretty awesome so it makes me wonder if I am doing something wrong!!!!! Or I should just take my own ususal info which is do whatever makes you happy:-) Its worked so far I guess. -
+1 ... I often stuff foam under my bridge to get less sustain and a bit more punch and thump. Depends what you play I guess
Sorry for being a bit dense.....but. I have seen foam under the strings before, but I dont quite get why someone would do it. I have string mutes on my Ric so would that serve the same purpose?? Why do you gain from the foam or mutes??? -
The sunstroke's playing havoc with my brain cell Steve. How does this work then? You meet up but the buyer pays the sellers costs (presumably return fare)... why don't they just keep on driving all the way then?
Just ment I could get the bass to the buyer if they for whatever reason can't get to me. Pretty standard offer I thought.
