EBMM BIG AL 4 SSS white/tort/rosewood. WITHDRAWN
munkonthehill replied to Prime_BASS's topic in Basses For Sale
selling due to taste and cant justify keeping this without using it. The bass is in 99.9% condition the 0.1 being a tiny tiny faint scuff on the top of the of the head stock on the back edge. It's so small and light I can't photograph it with my iPhone. Everything else is top notch. The case is in brand new condition never left the house and still has the candy except the string cleaner(turns out dogs love the taste). Now the dirty bit. Price is a firm £1250. open to offers I would be interested in trades but they are specific. EBMM stingray 4H in some kind of White with maple ideally 1990 with some kind of figured maple prefered MM sabre in some kind of white, rosewood or maple. 1982 G&L l2000 e-series in White/maple with some cash my way. In reality in interested in anything that stingray/stingrayish (classics?) but WHY ? more pictures on request More than welcome for people to come and give the thing a try. I like Seasick Steve. Some of the stuff is bland, but I really appreciate his raw sound. Paired up with the superior bass sound of JPJ........oh now that I cant wait to see -
If you're serious about this, just a quick question. Why won't the seller post it up to you themselves ? Or is it an issue of trust with the cash ?
thats it really. I dont know the fella and even though its not a huge amount of cash I dont want to take the chance.
Wish I had that problem! A P bass makes me look like a midget lol, one of my reasons for returning to guitar. I think the Bisons looks awesome too, I've played a green one - Sounded like a 60s bass, wasn't awful to play but not great either. I don't remember the weight I'm afraid but if your a big guy thats irrelevant. I wouldn't buy one as a workhorse, 60s guitars/basses are great toys though.
If I can get one cheap enough I will use it at for the local jam sessions. However if its decent then it may make its way into my gigs too....If my new band make it out the rehearsal hall that is hahaha
I still have the b410hlf and the 3pro in the practice room. At home I have the LH1000 and AK410, gigged with this rig once and it was fantastic! Tone and volume aplenty!! You need to try it out.
I tried a Hartke rig at a redeye studios in clydebank. Pretty impressed with the 4x10 and 1x15 i was using. A bit overkill for a rehearsal hall but it did remove all cobwebs hahaha. Is the rig portable compared to the 4x10hlf??????????
I played a Bison (a modern reissue rather than a vintage one) and I have to say I was thoroughly disappointed by it. I was trying it out at the same time as I was buying my Gibson G-3 through the same amp (a Phil Jones if memory serves) and it couldn't hold a candle to it on any setting (yes I tried them all).
oh matt i was hoping you had good info for me
They are ugly and play like pigs though!!
oh
I played a few bisons in my time, they're beautiful! Plays like butter and the tone is thunderous. The body is huge though, and some think them ugly. Not me!
funny enough brother,,,its the big body that I really like. I hate the fact basses look small or at least guitar size on me. So having a nice big bass is a big A+ for me. As for the looks
Hey Steve, Is it a guitar or bass you are looking at? If its a bass then a very good friend of mine on here has one. Could arrange for you to try it out. By the way, loving the Hartke gear!!
Yeah its the bass Andy, they look the dogs danglys and I really fancy one of those white ones. So whats the Hartke gear you have ended up with? What ampeg stuff do you still have?

Hola all, Seen a burns bass on gumtree and was going to go for it. However due to neck and fret damage I dont think I could go through with it as its in London and would need to see the damage or at least get an opinion on it. So I am now in the market for one. Does anyone have experience of these basses and more importantly does anyone want to sell one hahaha. DAMN GAS
Ok, so went to Andertons today, tried one out, listened to abt two to three bars of me playing a Precision through it, decided straight away to get it. It was hooked up to one of the PF 115HE cabs, and man, did it sound sweet. Anyway, got it home, hooked up to my cab, and am really pleased with it. Re the fan - yes, you can hear it whirring away, but as soon as I start playing, or start up a song on Youtube through my PC speakers (at home practice level) you can`t hear it any longer. Fuss abt nothing, imv. As said, I`ve got a couple of band practices this week, so I`ll post a review, but at the moment, I`ve got 500 watts of Ampeggy Bassiness, for under £350 (Andertons very nicely agreed to price-match for me). The scores so far:
Lozz thats great news buddy. I really fancy the 2x10 and head rig. I wish the cabs were 4 ohms though so that you get the full whack out the rig as it is.
*****I'll get photo's up tomorrow!******* Black! Nothing wrong with it!, not trying to get rid on a lemon! it's not buzzy! i grounded the cavities together! Used for recording, and practising! It has the worlds thinnest neck, and the nut is is cut to perfection. Ive upgraded the bridge to a shaller, adjustable. the one with sliding rails, so you can get string alignment right! Looking to either trade for anything interesting, or sell for around £500 Ps (must be four string)
all the very best with this venture however remember the grass isnt always greener!!!! -
