Realised I've yet to post in this thread, so here's me in the woods with the firstborn: It's about 2½ years old (the bairn's 3 and a bit now, and he's got a little brother too), so there's now less hair and even more weariness.
aww,,, amazing pic. The wee fella looks so happy
 2. Too late Tom........ Im already contacting the mods to have this thread terminated. Such an amazing bass,,,such a bad decison GP!!!!!!!! However, to all sellers who are unsure aobut these basses please be aware that they are the greatest basses on the market at this price.
 3.
My advice would be to not worry yourself about it and get whichever you think sounds better whether it be 18, 9, 2, 27v whatever...
that wasnt the point of the post though, it was curiosity on why 18v is required when other preamps run on 9v too.
 4.
I'll give this a miss. FWIW, never liked the guy's style. Have you something to do with his UK promo, cos that's one hell of a shameless puff-piece?
POW,,,,,welcome to basschat!! Andy P will will be along shortly in anger that there is no Scottish visits
 5.
didn't think I'd see this up for sale, but now I see you have a Bongo I can understand why. The aerodynes are fantastic, but not much beats a Bong IMHO, I'd have another in a heartbeat if I got the chance/cash. Good luck with the sale mate
cheers Steve, yeah between the bongo and the jag am pretty sorted with all the bass tones I will need. I have to be honest with myself and say that I won't gig this bass whilst I have the other 2 and it's just too good to be left behind. In saying that, I'm in no rush to move it on either. I will still noodle on it due to it's playability.
 6.
that's lovely not a big fan of jazzes but that looks awesome what kind of gear you looking for?
ideally I would like the cash, but I would also like giggable heads or light cabs
 7. For sale here is my Fender Aerodyne bass. The bass is in dolphine grey and comes with fitted ashtrays. The bass is in very good condition with a couple of dings to the rear that have went down to the wood, however these cannot be seen by anyone apart from yourself when you play it. Here is the original post, I hope my main man Steve doesnt mind me using it http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...amp;hl=aerodyne The bass was setup 3 weeks ago and plays amazing with its flats that its strung with, however with my Jaguar and Bongo in the stable I cant see this getting much playtime. I am looking for a sale on this bass at £400 and this will include an aluminium flightcase that will keep this bass very safe indeed. I may be open to trades for some amp/cab gear. heres a few pics of my own.
 8.
I did a gig recently using my Acoustic 220, which can run at 2 ohms. I used my Acoustic 2x15 4 ohm cab and added my Acoustic 1x15 which is also 4 ohms. I have to say adding the extra 15" cone and halving the impedance made my amp no louder whatsoever!
yeah looks like its a wasted journey with this 2 ohm malarky. Thanks everyone with your input. Its helped alot.
 9.
I'm available for new bands, established bands, originals, or a bit if both. Not fussy on style as long as I'm free to do what I can do. Great gear, great attitude, punctual, talented. PM me here or email me at [email protected]
dont forget modest
 10.
I have supported the Blockheads a few times. He is a fantastic bass player and one of the nicest blokes I have ever met. An absolute gent who enjoys a beer and a little bit of "woodshedin". All the Blockheads are game for a laugh. This is what we got them to do last tome we supported them. http://thebusbybabes.webs.com/apps/photos/...albumid=8708673
i like to hear stories of bands where fame hasnt made them dicks. Pictures are cool matey
 11.
I want a big al
but you have a stingray on its way!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when will it end????????????
 12.
I'm looking forward to seeing them in Sale in October.
the blockheads or the wilko band???
 13. I really hate those basses that I have serious GAS for but cant afford. I HATE THEM ALL
 14. Having never been a fan of tthe blockheads, I feel I have missed some great bass playing. This obviously comes for Norman Watt Roy. This man is freakin amazing. Im sitting watching one of their gigs on sky arts and just wanted to hear more of his stuff. Youtube threw this to me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCIWmldNbyA lovely, just lovely.
 15.
It isn't just about how many watts goes into a cab, it's about how much air is being moved. 500 watts moving 2 4x10 cabs is gonna move just short of twice as much air as 500 watts going into 1 4x10 thus being a whole load louder & retain the sound that you would expect to get from your existing rig. The old "full output from the head into one cab will give you max volume" is a myth. If you put 2 8 ohm 4x10 cabs on your amp (getting about 300w out your head), it would more than likely be louder than the full whack into one 2 ohm 4x10 because you're moving a larger mass of air with the extra speakers. Hope this helps.
it sure does buddy. Thanks for that.
 16.
well having 350w through more speakers, you will get more volume than 500w through one cab.... however if the songle cab is bigger / higher spl than what you are using at the moment, then it would be louder, but not much louder than if you were running 250 watts into it.
yeah i dig where your coming from, thanks for the insight mate.
 17. so what do I get in comparison of the 350watts and 500watts then????? the answer of 150watts isnt acceptable
 18.
The blonde?
no,,,,the coffee's on the table obvioulsy
 19. i have this in the amp section too however i may get a speedier responce here. As the title suggests folks. Just seeing if theres any cabs out there with 2ohm impedance?????????? If so, does anyone have one for sale???????
 20. As the title suggests folks. Just seeing if theres any cabs out there with 2ohm impedance?????????? If so, does anyone have one for sale???????
 21. Right thats it,,,,,the bongo is up for sale or swap so I can get a big al!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha only kidding.
 22.
Search for Big Al on youtube, there are a few reviews. Id say they are more 'warm' and vintage sounding than the Bongo...the pickups are neo and it has the 4 band EQ. The thing that really attracts me is the passive option and tone control.
youtube is a wonderful thing hahahaha. Just seen a a review by Ed Friedland - The Bass Whisperer. He put the big al through its paces. lovely bass and very versatile too.
