1.
Thanks for the 'thumbs up' for the review, great bass, great price....bump! Mike
great review Mike, now lets see about you getting us a discount on these subscription fees!!!
 2.
Im considering not to sell this bass now. In 2 minds now
let me help you there, this bass has a lovely neck to play, slim and petite, very fast. the range of tones is decent for a passive bass, its by no means as versatile as my jag or MM, the P-pup is booming and warm and the j-pup is there just to thin it out and keep it in check for all you pop musicians who like a thinner sound. The tone pot is very sensitive and every tweak of it makes the bass sound just a wee bit different. the bass looks amazing and I quote this from my band members 'its the kinda bass you should wear a tie when your playing it'. This just adds to my saying this bass is classic/modern. It will fit into a functions band or a rock band......simples infact i may sell my ray just so I have funds to buy this and stick a set of blacks on it...............hmmmmmmmm yummy
 3.
.....trade a MM Stingray 5 for a Sadowsky M5-24 if you could and wanted something new?
i would,,,however that doesnt say much hahahahah
 4.
... and he wants $500 for shipping. Should have thought he could hand deliver it for that much!
aye but if he he delivered it to you personally,,,,that means he would know where you live,,,,as its already clear he is a robbin bastard,,,i think its a bit dodgy he knows your EXACT address and house layout!!!!!haha
 5.
I like to find a pillar or something to hide behind! I think every town has one of those ageing rock dudes and I guess some of us will become the next generation, Sadly one of our town heros passed away unexpectedly last year.He used to be at the front at every gig praising them up and lightening the mood at some of those gigs where no one wants to start dancing. We played Oasis live forever as a tribute to him! Proper nutter though but missed all the same and to think we used to get annoyed by him sometimes is a bit shameful now.
we ave a guy like this too Pete, I think I will appreciate him a bit more......nice sentiment with the song matey
 6.
Let's be honest though, it's not for the perspex-case brigade, this is a battle scarred road warrior (or something) that actually sounds great and I think it plays better than my other 'Jazz'.
maybe your better investing in a decent jazz me thinks hahaha
 7. why do these all sound dirty and things that should be done in carparks!!!!!!!!!!!!
 8.
I will try a Sterling if I can get my hands on one,Anyone out there fancy a temporary trade with an EB stingray for a bit? Midlands area.(Im not really from Button Moon!)
i knew this short term swap thing would catch on. i think basschat should honour a forum with my name for this!!!!!!!!!!!!
 9. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1999RM-1964-RICKENBA...=item439e7ea0ba is any bass really worth this amount??
 10.
what a gorgeous Stingray 5! @ munkonthehill - the three settings on the switch are Parallel/Single Coil/Series. parallel is most like the 4 string Ray tonewise, single coil is a bit thinner/more focused sounding and series has the most mids and is the thickest tone of the three
ah cheers DB
 11.
No rays with switches that I know of? (not a Sterling?)Probably added on I think, where abouts were they located? Pre EB's have different preamps over the early years until the last versions (c1979) which carried on into the 2 band EB, All the three EQ ones are the same modern green pcb and none as far as I know with any sort of switching? But maybe Im wrong?
this one here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=93543 i asked on the thread but he said its cos his is a 5 and mine is a 4,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,does the switch turn the B string off hahahaha
 12. best of luck Rich. i can fully vouch for Rich being a top bloke and the A1 condition of the JC sig.
 13.
Because yours is a 4 string i imagine.
what does the switch do?
 14. ive seen a few stingrays with a switch in the preamp....are these post production?? are their variation in the preamps on the stingrays?
 15. how come this stingray has a switch in the preamp and mine doesnt????/ are there variatoins in the stingrays?????/
 16. i think the real question that should be asked is why did the guy repaint the bass in that god awful colour!!!!!!!!!!!!
 17. yip keep the wifes in the dark,,,,,,,,,if my mrs knew how much my stingray was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 18.
you took the ashtrays off
aye haha, its damn hard to play with them on, its ok when your noodling in the house, but when your moving about gigging and getting right into a song you tend to find your right hand wanders, thankfully at rehearsals before my first gig with it I kept hitting the ashtrays, so decided to take them off. I actually ment to stick them on for the pic, but I could find the screwdriver to stick them back on
 19.
Do you still have the original tuners, bridge and pickup?
but think how good it would look sticking a set of blacks on that!!!!!!!!! I think its worth pointing out I am in no wayy affiliated or endorsed by either mashup or fender.......I just love my aerodyne and hope to pass on the love
 20.
Nice pic on the wall!
god bless hollyoaks
 21.
Bought a bass from Steven this week - Lovely guy to deal with, does exactly what he says on his 'tin Highly recommended!
cheers Rich, pleasure to do business with you.
 22.
Very nice collection of basses. The only investment you need now is a couple of stands - you know it makes sense!
well due to my lad being 11months (1year old on the 30th of july,,,how time flies) i cant keep them on the floor just now, so they are in the back room out of harms way. I cant really have them out on show until he is old enough to learn a will do him in if he touches them!!
