1. Ok chaps I have had time to play about with the stingray and will hopefully have it at practice tonight. I hate to say it, but I have a major concern about it... I cant put the bloody thing down!!!! Rich was right in saying its probably the best neck I have played on, its wider than im used to however not too deep. the setup on it is mint however there is buzzing when im unamped but thankfully doesnt appear to come through the amp. I was talking to Jezzaboy on the blower yesterday and commented on the strings on the bass. They have light blue thread at the top (anyone know the manufacturer?). They seem just really loose and easy to play. my 2 fenders are cracking players but they seem to be quite rigid in their strings compared to the stingray. Now im unsure if its the strings that are making it this way or its the construction of the stingray that makes it just so easy to play. I told Gerry that it pretty much plays itself.....its just so good.
 2.
I think you should take a look at the for sale section, there is a very nice epiphone EB-1 there for £180 posted. Sorry for the shameless plug.
+1 on the EB-1 in sale section, Stephen is a great guy to deal with also and his setup on basses is top notch too. A bass to seriously consider as its not pricey, looks the part and in mint condition.

 11.
Onehandclapping, I think if your going to deal like this you need to offer a cash on collection service. Whilst I hate to be a pain in the ass I'm sure you can understand our worry when we hear someone who is new to the forum saying "Yes, please send thousands of pounds to the other side of the world and i'll get it on its way!". If you can do this then best of luck with the sale. In the mean time I would urge buyers to hold off untill we we have a reply Thankyou!
well I totally disagree,,,,,,ive emailed onehandclapping my bank details, NI number pin number and my bank card should be with him via special courier tomorrow

Its a bit sad really.
dont think its sad, pretty cool really. I love playing my xbox,,,to combine something like that with my other passion of bass. It really catches my eye.

 16.
Stephen (munkonthehill) and I can both vouch for these B5Rs - instant dial in for Ampeg goodness, with a useful OD channel you can blend in and a serviceable octaver too. Recommended.
Very much so. I was so glad I didnt sell mine. I would have struggled to get the sound again in another rig. This really is a great sounding rig although a bit on the heavy side hahahahaha
 17.
Finger style sounds real nice with the flats, I'm actually quite surprised, thought that would choke the "classic stingray sound", but I stand corrected. Slapping on the flats sounded like ass though, which is not a surprise... Still prefer the rounds myself though Eude
no im definetly sticking with the rounds Ewan. mainly so you can give me some more direction in slapping next time we meet checked your Shuker page as well matey. how long have you been with them?
 18. check this regarding the flats or rounds on a stingray http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VA_KrCDjbV4
 19.
I suppose, although it's generally a good idea to at least look into resale prices etc before buying one if that was your intention.
it wasnt my intention, just a question i asked.
 20.
Like MB1 said, i think you got a bit lucky with this one!
well i knew if i didnt like it, it would be eas enough to shift on.
 21.
munk : a rather cheese-tastic picture can be seen at http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?act=attach...st&id=42555 of both weapons :-) (i must remove that picture soon)
hahaha stag, all thats missing is a medallion......never delete that pic wicked looking gear though matey. you have me jealous now
 22.
I'm late to the thread, but i just wanted to get this straight.... You bought a stingray on ebay, having never tried one previously, with absolutely no idea of how one might even feel to play and no idea of the price you should have paid for it.... and then came on here to ask about it, after you bought it?
yip
 23. and thanks everyone on your comments about the ray and about the size of your hands........................ya bunch of weirdos hahahahahaha
 24.
I think 'rays sound frickin awesome with rounds, in fact they're probably integral to their punchy sound. Unless you are intentionally aiming for a specific sound I can't see the point in trying flats.
i feel as though ive just been reprimanded hahahahahaha
 25.
Bloody good idea!
and whilst we have our bass day you can decide if you want to swap this for my jag
