1. 1- try harmonies in the band 2- continue to learn piano (self taught) 3- try and get comfortable with various scales on bass rather than falling into the minor pentatonic scale all the time.
2. Hey there man, have a huge BUMP on me. I have a bootsy fuzz wah and i think the idea of these items are the mutz nutz. The morley have a great name in the fx game and I think this would be an amazing pedal. However I think your price is a bit steep, just because its old doesnt mean it adds or retains value, the modern pedals are 120 to your door. As I dont know what you paid for this pedal then I cant really be 100% certain on resale value? just IMHO to help with sale mate. again though this would be a great addition to any funk or rock bassist pedalboard.
3. Just to let everyone know, my very first ever gig (think it was July 2009) was a charity gig with no payment. The local jam band who I went up with a few times earlier on in the year had organised this night for a young girl who was very ill. By the time this charity night was setup I had been in my current band ( my guitarist and drummer are well known in the local music scene as they are monsters,,,yes I am a lucky bass-steward). We were ASKED what time slot we fancied. Low and behold we were on at that exact time. This was a jam band who organised ths night (they nicely added us as a headline band in the local newspaper). Goes to show the difference in very poor organisation and amazing organisation. Just to let you all know that 6 months on I have now had a few gigs but I will never forget how important jam sessions in your locals are and how well they will treat you as long as you show them the same respect. Plus its a god send not having to lug a bass amp to a gig hahahahaha.
4. nice one mate, well all the best with the sale. give me a shout when you get the 8x10 and let me know how it is
5. I have problably stuck this on but here are a few all the same.
6.
Spotted this last night: http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~A...29~ID~11199.asp I knew there were issues with the Chinese made ones in the past but does anyone know what's in them? Do they have ABM Evo I parts? Etc? Seems like a really good deal since it has the bare minimum of features which is something that I like. I think I'll email Ashdown and see what the score is.
like a said I have the evo II and possibly looking for something diffent either in way of head or my ampeg B4x10hlf cab. if you fancy off loading that 8x10 you have or other heads i would be interested
7.
http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...&hl=feelers
a more diplomatic responce compared to your last one on the subject hahaha
8. who manufactures powered bass cabs???
9.
Ah ha, The Wayward Wanderer returns !! If any of this gear is anything like the Ashdown amp you sold me.. then it'll be a complete lemon. Avoid. No wonder you wanted to meet me in Portsmouth high street, without me seeing or testing it. Just a shame I was so utterly gullible.
interesting, did you contact the wanderer with faults and stuff, if so what was the outcome?
10. I bout the evo II a few months ago, only difference is the evo II has the built in ompressor. The head is awesome and so simple to use, I think the ABM would be cool to use but there are just too many dials. I would be suprised if this head last long on their shelves as its a alot of watts for your money. The amp although seems basic, does give a huge amount of tonal change. All in all dudes its awesome.
11. YYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS well done Tom. Welcome back hahahahaha. You know you have done the right thing, im sure there is now a space n heaven for you.
12. Just an update on The licks. ive just finished my first gig in Slanj (previously connelys) in greenock. Gig went well and it I think the sound was pretty spot on. Only strange thing was the when I asked what kind of time they wanted us to start, I was told to start at 10 till just back of 11.30 (greenock has a curfew at half 11 and you ant get into any pubs) then we can have a break then do our second set!!!!!!!!!!!!! I then advised them that our first set is usually 45mins then a 20min break then another 45min set. So we compramised and we started at half 10 till half 11 had a break till 11.50 and played till half half 12. I think they got their monies worth with about 26 getting played.
13.
A lot going on then! You are more than welcome to try out my 810 any time you like! also I have a lead here that will save you re-wiring the cab, professionalyl made by our own obbm here. Its a serial lead which allows you to add another cabinet while dropping the the output volume of the amp. Its yours for free if you want it. I'm back at work next week and can arrange to get it to you. andy ps, Chris is a really good guy, done loads of great deals with him.
nice one Andy I appreciate it, the sound out the head and cab is awesome I just imagine an 8x10 is going to be even more awesome haha.
14. well chris has been amazing and given me a few options, main one being rewiring the cab to 16 ohmes so the head output to it is dropped to about 250watts. This means I get to keep the 600watt head incase I want to start adding extention cabs. He still has the H&K head and I have to say im sorely tempted by that, but we aint spoke of a trade deal on that. Plus Tom on here is mid deal on trading his 8x10, so im kinda hoping that falls through(sorry but im selfish) and I can swoop down and help him take it off his his hands hahahaha. So just now there is a few things happening, just unsure on my next step. I think my main 'want' is the 8x10.
15. amazing find Phil. After selecting only 2 samples I had a sound similar to DJ Format. again dude amazing find.
16.
I don't think it's an overreaction. Cutting a band off after four songs then putting on an iPod for a half-hour is a direct insult. The guy sounds like a massive tool and I'd have called him worse than you did. There's guys like this at every level of live music. We supported Breed 77 a few years back, and literally halfway through our allotted time their road manager was standing next to the stage waving his arms and tapping his watch (even the crowd could see him doing this). Fortunately all the guys at the venue were our friends so weren't about to let this d*ck get in the way of our playing (we later found out that the road manager had been acting like a massive douchebag since the band arrived), so we finished our set as normal. When we finished we started to load our gear off the stage, whereupon this guy starts yelling at us and telling us to f*ck off and let a real band on stage, so we started dawdling. It took us about ten minutes longer than it normally would have to get our stuff off the stage, and by the end of it the guy had almost had a haemorrhage. To their credit, the band apologised for his behaviour after the show.
cheers max, i feel better noo haha
17. bass on all kasabian stuff is quite basic(songs ive tried anyway) no need for a capo, just needs to be quicker changing notes or learn his scales and fretboard
18. yeah I think I may have over reacted, but I have seen reply after reply that this kinda thing happens quite alot when 'organisers' get involved. looks like its best just to organise your own gigs like we are doing the morra
19. TO YOU AND YOUR HAVE A SNIFTER, A SHOT, A DRAM IN ANY CASE GET f***in LEATHERED AND LETS HAVE A BLINDIN 2010.

24.
Hi Steve, Merry Christmas! Check this: http://www.bugera-amps.com/EN/products/BVP5500.aspx on sale here: http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/...ss-Amp-Head/ANF Value for money! Behringers boutique range however...... andy
Hi Andy merry christmas to you too, hope santa was good to you. Im really hoping for a swap rather than buying something (due to issues we discussed a few months back haha). But I have to say for an all tube head they are amazing value for money. Im just not a big fan of Behringers, I think I may be starting to be snob after purchasing an ampeg cabinet However im really interested in that ashdown 8x10 thats for sale, i wonder if a cab swap is in order rather than the head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
25. im with Andy on this as the 8x10 looks the mutz nutz. I have the mag 600h as well, although running it through an ampeg 4x10HLF. However after seeing the 8x10 im now drooling haha.
