Hey all, just wondering if anyone would consider a swap. Im looking for a 300-400watt head ideally with a tube or 2 in it. The head has been gigged once and is in perfect working condition and appearance. The only reason im considering this swap as my cab is rated at 400watts at 4ohmes so scared incase i blow it to bits hahaha. So if you have anything your looking to swap and get a bit more wattage then please pm me dudes. This head is not for sale as I think its the mutts nutz,im just hoping for something that wont ruin my cab. an amp that goes to 2ohmes with an output of 800watts would be amazing (cash can be parted with). Keep in mind its xmas and miracles can happen;-) cheers Steven

your a lucky man, these basses will be the last bass a man (or woman) ever need. I love mine to bits and hope you appreciate this wonderful gift that your family have givern you. I assume you asked for this specific bass as its not the normal bass a person would be given as a gift of plus the hefty price tag would put off even the most devoted spouse
loved my 3pro, however does not compare to my v4! With the money you have available, I would be tempted to shop about making a valve amp priority. My 220w v4 is far, far louder than my ex 3pro and louder than most other amps! If its ampeg your determined to own then might I suggest checking out an SVT Classic. andy
i was wondering how long before andy jumped at this post hahahaha. hope all is well matey. I can promote the 4x10hlf as an amazing cab dude, plenty of bottom end and top too. However if a 6x10 is an option then i would suggest this as the best option as it will give you the sound you want plus not too difficult to shift about.
You don't need to apply a lot of pressure-if any- on the string when you are resting the thumb on it. If the string is touching the pickup poles,it sounds like you need to be a little lighter with your thumb- I've never had that problem.
i know where im going wrong, just a case of being more gentle.
Basically, the original idea for the 'thumb' rest was to hook your fingers underneath it and pluck the strings with your thumb at the end of the fingerboard. I've never needed to use a thumb rest-i use the my thumb as a moveable anchor, and rest it on either the pickup or on the strings.
thats my M.O too. just hate it when i rest my thumb on my stings and they touch the pickup hahaha, not a pleasant sound!!!!!!!!!!
Well the guy has got back to me..... Claims he did post it last week... still nothing here yet He's offered a refund if it doesn't show.... I'll give it a bit longer what with xmas & all...
RED ALERT RED ALERT

my preference like so many know is the fender Jaguar. although these are out of the 400note budget I would suggest checking about for a second hand one. these basses are everything you need in a bass, with the pre-amp you get everything from high twang to low grunt....hope you keep it in mind as an option. I may be a bit bias however I have played various basses and I think this is an amazing all rounder plus they look amazing hahahaha
I've had a similar experience too many years ago. I don't drink either, but I've been in bands where people do, and it does affect their performance.
theres also the fact that i you do have a drink then you may have to leave your gear behind and pick it up the next day, now im not saying i dont trust the places a play, BUT......................... So i usually have a pint o cider at start of night after setting up all the gear then once thats gone its either energy drinks or irn-bru. after gig i am first one packed up and im usually in the house for 1ish in ma jimmy jams having a cuppo tea ROCK 'N' ROLL BABY YEAH -

I don't feel like giving out a big introduction at the moment, so for now, I shall say just a "Hello" to all, so now all of you do me a favor and start "welcoming" me.
a wee bit needy, but hello do you need a hug?
I use them. My P-basses all have ashtrays so I can't rest on the pick up. I like the retro look of the covers & my oldest P-bass had rust on the original pickup after literally hundreds of gigs. If you see the thumb rest below the strings this was on earlier models to rest your fingers & play with your thumb.
and the world is right again hahahahaha cheers burrito
