2. ok chaps im using my bootsy pedal with my ashdown 600h. my setup is bass - pedal - input(head) however i have the send return effects inputs on the head.....im not sure what these are for and if i should be using them for my pedals. any input would help dudes
3. nice one chaps, i will get the sheeting tomorrow and try it out on saturday hen i have a bit of time
4. yo yo yo, ok chaps i have this known issue with my fender jag, the hissing,,,god how i hate the hissing. its really bad in active mode especially with the treble boost high and i noticed its kinda bad with my gain turned up on my little line6 lowdown. this all becomes quiet when i touch any part of the bass that has metal. so how oh how do i fix this????
5. i reckon this is an amazing price dude, i would go into the wanted section and see if anyone is looking for a cheap combo. If i didnt have my hughes and kettner i would have this in a heartbeat dude
6. let me get this straight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! your selling a 4x10 and a 1x15 for 180bucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! has the world gone insane. If i wasnt so far away mate i would be on these like a fatman on a tub of lard
7.
Yes, that's the sort of thing...is it face melting volume? Or a dirty old loud 4x12 and a stinking reliable Peavey or something
nah the amp is a workhorse apparantly, only gigged it once and it played along well with ma guitarists all valve vintage modern 2266c marshall. I just dont like the 15inch driver in it, for some reason i have turned to 10inch hence my ampeg 4x10hlf. cant beat the clarity. however,,,,face melting!!!!! compared to yours it may not even make you blink hahahaha, but it is a powerful amp.
8. ok now im sure everyone has looked at my threads regarding impedance and are glad they have not been bumped hahaha. So here is the next question. if you have say a 600watt head at 4ohms and you have 2cabs at 8 ohms (regardless of their actual output) this will give you the full 600watts power output from the head, however does this mean that 600watts is getting put through the 2 cabs or is the power divided between them so each is actually getting 300watts
9. looks like my hughes and kettner bk200 amp is what your after i fancy something this size and im not into the 15inch driver
10. if your interested i could be persuaded to travel further, i quite fancy this rig.
11. i have a hughes and kettner bk200 for swap. only thing is im up in scotland, willing to travel about half way if you fancy it.
12. im just not a fan of this dudes, fearne cotton has played stuff on radio 1, and i just thought, those guys could do so much better. plus fearne cotton calls john paul jones,,,,,,jonesy,,,,,,,,,she has no bloody right
13. Dunno if this is of any interest but heres my thoughts. I play rock/blues,,,zep, the who, joe bonamassa, kings of leon.etc.... now in my style, fingers are used all the way as theres is more control and lets face it these songs aint gonna strain yer forearm. I used to play motorhead in another band and mainly due to the ATTACK, SPEED AND RHYTHM i needed the pick to play the tunes. I think its best to have both at our disposal however concentrate on what style you play and what is best for the song, not for you just to show your diversity.Cos lets face it, the crowd doesnt give a sh*t about you,,,only the song..
14. the seeker by the who are you gonna go my way by lenny kravitz, however as we only have one guitarist i play the main riff with some distortion so that it fills the song nicely, so in actual fact i aint really playing the bassline at all hahahaha, owell
15. i have to say that no less than 300watts mate. but it all depends on your band, my guitarist and drummer are loud so the 300watts is a must, however my mate uses an old peavey tnt of mine at 150watts that suits his band. you will always chase wattage so buy big at all times. I use a 200watt as my inhouse practice and very small gig amp, then i use an ashdown 600h and ampeg 4x10hlf for everything else. any questions please pm me dude
16. regarding reliabilty of these amps please read this. I would advise everyone to stay well clear after having 2 that failed at the first hurdle. I now run an ashodown 600h with an ampeg 4x10hlf cab and backup is a hughes and kettner BK200. I can now breath easy and not worry about ruining another gig
17. heres a wee pic of the rig in action (my sister in law took the pic hence its a bit dodgy)
18.
Have you had a full practice or gigged with the rig yet? andy
hey andy, had a gig on saturday and took along the rig, just to say OMG. It did everything i wanted. the cab was amazing, playing with the head it was just awesome, im going to have to play about with the amp to really get the sound im after but i couldnt have been more than happy. Im just a bit disappointed it wasnt an ampeg amp sitting ontop of it. but I am very impressed with the overall sound. You lot gigging yet, i really want to see the 8x10 in action.
19. i use a line6 lowdown 15watt for house rehearsals, a hughes and kettner bk200 200w for smaller gigs and an ashdown 600h with an ampeg 4x10hlf for everything else.
20.
Wow, Ashdown and Ampeg stuff really looks great together! I've got an Eden with an Ashdown cab, and it looks like a creation of Frankenstein!
get a pic up then dude, lets keep this thread going, i want to see eveyones bass and amp rig
21.
Tis a rig! let me know how it all goes with it. andy
will do andy. Still no wordon redundancies, I cant beleive that amp has gone to another home.....
22.
Phworrr!!!! Beautiful. Although you know I'm going to tell you that you got the wrong colour I know that'll sound as good as it looks too.
hahaha, I was wondering how long it would take you
23.
I can perfectly understand why you are frustrated. Like a few comments here it seems to me that this was a badly organised gig. I have organised charity gigs where three bands played two sets each. It sounds as if the organisation for your gig wasn't up to much. Plus, was it a short night? Two bands with one only playing 4 songs doesn't sound like a very good night! I wouldn't haul my gear and my ass out for less then half an hour. I also note that you're down in Port Glasgow. If I'm organising anything in future I'll give you a shout - that is as long as you're not a Morton supporter!
no morton supporters in the band hahaha
24. yeah its a wicked guitar, a bit OTT for me though as im not too good on the 6string hahahaa
