to be honest dude your wasting your time with any less than 300watts, ive tried my 200watt at a gig on friday and it was just enough. get the biggest you can or you will always chase wattage. IMO of course. my guitarist uses an all valve marshall 50watt and it cuts through my sound like a fart in a lift, its bloody annoying, so im now waiting on my mag 600h to be delivered in the next few days along with an ampeg 4x10 hlf.

like a said im def getting the 4x10 i may look for 2 other cabs at 8 ohms at a later date... i also fancy a 2x10 and 1x15 rig.

oh aye, just to add, I have to say that the funks pic on his threads has got to be the coolest pic on this site,looking very cool my good man.

hola my good people, Im looking for reviews for an ashdown mag 600h, I have checked harmony central and they only have 2 and they are pretty poor, I was hoping some of you chaps could shed some light for me on these amps as personal reviews are better than ones you find on random web pages. Im going to be running it through an ampeg 4x10hlf. So if you could spare the time and give me your thoughts that would be tip top. cheers Steven

ok so I have now tried my 200watt combo at a gig and it was ok but i had the amp running at full, so i have taken the plunge and bought an ashdown mag 600h woo hoo. now this runs at 575watt at 4ohms. im picking up an ampeg 4x10hlf which is 400watt at 4ohms. so as this is more than enough power for me im really happy and cant wait to get them and try them out, my question now is how can I get that extra 175watts of power out? as far as i can tell is that if I run another 4ohm cab that takes my impedance to 2 ohms which will ruin my amp(not an option) so wondering what would be the effect if i ran a 8ohm cab?? or can I in some way run 2x 4 ohm cabs in series and whats the difference running them in series rather than parallel if thats possible of course?

Hola people, Had our first dire gig last night, we played the darroch bar in gourock and we bombed big time. we were booked as the band that was ment to play pulled out last minute, however this bar is mainly regulars only and by god they did not like us. I was even taken aside by a random person to advise me on playing music (what a prick). so we got paid and please believe me that was the only plus on the night. anyone else had a gig that bombed???

I had been messing with bass for years and always thought of myself as a bass player, even though I had never played in a band and could only play tunes that I had tab for and even at that i was limited to very easy tunes. 1hour a day is nothing dude, try all day and night as I couldnt put my bass down when i finally got into it, 18months ago. Im now in an amazing band and giging at least once a month. once you get a few scales down and get comfortable playing over some keys, then get yourself down to a local jam session to get some confidence playing in front of people. Get a band together asap and get rocking brother
