1. i finally got a reply from H&K. As the speaker output is wired in series you can use either a 4 ohm or an 8 ohm speaker. I would advise going for the 4 ohm option and make sure it’s rated around 200 watts. In terms of output produced, in theory it will be less because the overall impedance will have been increased but in practice it will probably sound about the same but the definition will be better as the extra speaker will share the load. so there you go, not even the engineers can tell me what kinda output i will have....
2. links now sorted im hoping for folk to offer things for swaps as i dont know what you have!
3. up for swap is my vintage bubinga fretted bass and me50-b multi fx, this is a cracking setup especially with the wah on the fx board and the sweet slap sound from the bass, however if you want to rock out then there are plenty of distortions and overdrive to play with. the bass is the older v940 model with gold hardware. if you need any pics then i will get them on later. spec for me50-b: http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/1275...m_campaign=base spec for bass: http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/1423...m_campaign=base all swap considered, not fussed on sale as im not really looking for cash

5. fancy a vintage bubinga and a boss me50-b?
6. open to a trade vintage bubinga plus a few quid?
7. hey dude, stay well away from the mb4210, Mine packed up on me mid gig last weekend, im sure you can imagine how much of hassle that was hahaha. This was my second mb4210 as the first one wouldnt work at all if even the slightest amount of pressure was put on the top of the cab. I swapped it for a H&K BK200which im looking forward to blasting a few songs from. welcome to the forum though, everyone on here are absolute heros, real bunch of good guys
8.
I wouldn't feel comfortable with less than about 250W and 3 or 4 speakers for that kind of music. Sounds like a cool band btw - got any links?
www.thelicks.co.uk its only a new site so no vids or sound as yet
9. im in a trio, playing rock/blues joe bonamassa, cream, black crowes, led zep even britney spears
10. Hola all, I have been on gathering info on impedence due to getting a new 200watt amp as I was going to buy an extention cab, as it turns out I cant do this as it will end up losing output, im now trying to determine if 200watts will be enough. Its a hughes and Kettner BK200, 200watt with a 15"driver, i usually play to 50-100 people. what are you playing through and how does it handle?
11. but how would 200watts hold up?is this not going to be enough power or will this amp be sufficiant with its output
12. now that i cant add a cab without losing power, can anyone tell me if this amp will hold up in a gig, i ususally gig to about 50-100people. it has 200watts going into a 15"driver, any thoughts guys
13. amazing, so overall if I do add a cab then i lose power and wattage, kinda defeats the purpose of having the output socket!!!!!!!!
14. ok so final questions, is my amp currently delivering 200watts? if i added a 200watt cab will i have 200watts being delivered from both amp and cab? and finally will this have a major impact in my overall loudness and presence?
15. hey daz. i went to the shop, thankfully I had all the packaging as i got a straight swap for a hughes and kettner bk200. as this was my second 4210 i had no confidence plus there were concerns from ma band mates about reliability, sorry to see it go but like a said i just couldnt trust the thing. so upwards and onwards with ma new 15" driver
16.
Eesh, Im having to seriously keep myself away from this thread! My Stagg EDB could be available if your interested?
im interested in that too!!!!!!!!!!!
17. i have a vintage bubinga with gator case and leather strap plus 100quid on offer
18.
Now that's unusual. From the manual: So the amp is running at 4 ohms at the moment, and adding an 8 ohm cab would give you a total impedance of 12 ohms.
so what does this mean??? is running a 8 or 4 ohm speaker going to be detrimental to my amp, im still very hazey on the purpose of impedance levels
19. Hello, I have read a few pages on impedence but i dont think i quite have the brain power with this electric stuff(i practice in law). ok here we go, I have a hughes & Kettner BK200. it has a 1/4" jack output for an external speaker, does this mean an extention cab? it states it runs at 4-8 ohm.in the instruction booklet it states the speaker runs at 4ohm and the tweeter runs at 4ohm. does this mean that if both the speaker and the tweeter are in operation(tweeter can be switched off) that i cannot run anything further as im using the maximum ohms the amp can handle? Like i said i have read up on this impedence stuff but im non the wiser. jez is selling an ashdown 2x10 cab at 8 ohms, would this be suitable for me? this has probably been explained time and time again, but please for the love of god help me. I would say im losing hair over this but just check ma picture hahaha
20.
I reckon you just shook yours to destruction with that big fuzz box matey
hahaha maybe Al, check my picture on this profile, look on the floor at my right foot. recognise anything? haha
21. hey there Al, looks like we meet again hahaha. Im really glad you guys have came on this thread, I hated handing my 4210 back, i really liked it, but i couldnt trust its reliability after the second one crapped out, lets hope this hughes and kettner is better(anyone know anything about them?) plus the chaps from ma band also couldnt trust ma amp, not fair on them either.
22. this was my second mb4210, the first one stopped working after putting slight pressure on the top of the cab, now the second one stopped working after running it for about 30mins, I couldnt trust another one of these amps due to my experience. although i was happy with the amp, i did feel the lack of bottom end, so hopefully with this new amp i will get what i need, i just need to get a live band practice to try it out properly.
23. also on the H&k can you explain the compressor on it, ive never used one so unsure on the use of them.
24. i hear what your saying mate, i loved the sound out the 2x10 on the marshall, the clarity was sh*t hot, just a shame about the reliability hahaha. I just couldnt believer my 50watt took on the job at the gig. Im kinda putting that down to the 15"driver filling the room
