Mutual coupling is what you call proximtty effect and the height that it is broken depends on the cabinet design, especially the baffle. Mechanical coupling is a real no no.
-
Of course by lifting the cab you will lose the mutual coupling with the floor.

TH That is why I recommended the Sontronics, it has switchable polar pattern but room acoustics are just as important.

What's the best class D bass amp head you've used?

New Mesa Subway head - Further update with added snake oil
Chienmortbb replied to Steve Browning's topic in Amps and Cabs
In defence of Mesa and the dealers, first shipment of any electronic product is always a movable feast. As a manufacturer, you plan for a specific first shipment date but that is based on each step from design, to full production running smoothly. At Panasonic we would always do a pre-production run to test the production process, one month before full production. Any problems found on pre-production could lead to one or two month's delay in first shipment depeding on the severity of the problem. The products made made on the pre production run were used as demo samples. So there could be demonstration units around some 8-10 weeks before sale stock was available. Of course each company is different but that is how it was at Panasonic when I was there. -
Hands Up, I was wavering for a while. I will continue as long as someone wants to play with me!

They left the Z Organ off but it’s no dealbreaker. I have just ordered one,

Is the Z Organ effect that is in the B1(X) ON in the B1(X) Four?
-
I enquired about the Zoom B1/X Four and was told the X is sold out with a shipment due Mid Oct. I will be ordering a Zoom B1 Four later. The Harley Benton boards looks like a Palmer. I have one and choose it as being much better than the market leading boards.

Bolan was often shown with a Vamp 100W stack but live almost always used an HH IC100 plus HH 4x12s as far as I know.

Intersting. It does suggest that Aguilar are conservative about the power rating if they still use the 250ASX2. They use the 125ASX2 in the TH350, many that use that are quoting 500 watts. The video below explains a lot.- 34 replies

Quite correct as usual @agedhorse and I believe your comments about the specs and what is published apply to a number of class D modules. I say this from experience.- 34 replies

I only use the synths to scare the guitarists. I need a bit of drive, a touch of octaver and a litle chorus. I also use the pitch shifter to play along to songs that we play in a different key. Oh and the tuner on the B1ON is superb fantastic responsed time. I see they updated the firmware in July. What did that do?

Yes I was shielding too. There are two rooms one quite small, this is the one we used to use. THe main hall where we were yesterday is huge and we can have the windows open. After we have finished we have to leave time to clean the hall floor (spray with disinfectant cleaner then mop), the toiklets and the kitchen. All door handles are wiped before we leave. It takes half an hour but its worth it to play again. Whether we will get any more sessions soon, is anyone's guess.

I had a rehearsal yesterday with my BC112 MK3 designed by @stevie of this parish. It was designed to be a single lightweight cab that could do most gigs. I turned it up louder than I ever have yesterday (amp was a Bugera, the MOSFET one) and it was magnificent. Now I have used many of the cabinets above and they are all good but at 14Kg this is an easy one hand lift and as a DIY project, very good value. Cannot wait for the Mk IV .

I have a B1 ON and wonder if anyone has experience of that and the Four series. Is it worth upgrading and is the X version worth having and why?
-
Luckily we were all literally backs to the wall so HE would have to be very thin to slip in.

We rehearsed yesterday in a large village hall. Plenty of space for the 5 of us us to socially distance, Next week the hall is booked for a pantomime rehearsal. Good luck with social distancing then.
