  1. Intersting. It does suggest that Aguilar are conservative about the power rating if they still use the 250ASX2. They use the 125ASX2 in the TH350, many that use that are quoting 500 watts. The video below explains a lot.
  2. Quite correct as usual @agedhorse and I believe your comments about the specs and what is published apply to a number of class D modules. I say this from experience.
  3. I only use the synths to scare the guitarists. I need a bit of drive, a touch of octaver and a litle chorus. I also use the pitch shifter to play along to songs that we play in a different key. Oh and the tuner on the B1ON is superb fantastic responsed time. I see they updated the firmware in July. What did that do?
  4. Yes I was shielding too. There are two rooms one quite small, this is the one we used to use. THe main hall where we were yesterday is huge and we can have the windows open. After we have finished we have to leave time to clean the hall floor (spray with disinfectant cleaner then mop), the toiklets and the kitchen. All door handles are wiped before we leave. It takes half an hour but its worth it to play again. Whether we will get any more sessions soon, is anyone's guess.
  5. I had a rehearsal yesterday with my BC112 MK3 designed by @stevie of this parish. It was designed to be a single lightweight cab that could do most gigs. I turned it up louder than I ever have yesterday (amp was a Bugera, the MOSFET one) and it was magnificent. Now I have used many of the cabinets above and they are all good but at 14Kg this is an easy one hand lift and as a DIY project, very good value. Cannot wait for the Mk IV .
  6. I have a B1 ON and wonder if anyone has experience of that and the Four series. Is it worth upgrading and is the X version worth having and why?
  7. Luckily we were all literally backs to the wall so HE would have to be very thin to slip in.
  8. We rehearsed yesterday in a large village hall. Plenty of space for the 5 of us us to socially distance, Next week the hall is booked for a pantomime rehearsal. Good luck with social distancing then.
  9. Pictures?
  10. I have a black one and it is a lot of bass for the money. Mine does not have the selector switch so this maybe a later model. What does the switch do?
  11. As the OP I can see both sides. The threads that particulary interested me were the DIY Effects thread. It is so long and covers so mant types of effects and building methods that, in my opinion, it deserves a sub category in the same way the Lefties does in Bass Guitars. The Interesting FRFR thread is the other one and I have stopped reading it. Again it meanders and often resembles a Helix supports thread. Ironically I posted a piece of information in a long thread the other day and was castigated that i had already been mentiioned earlier in the thread. The very next post thanked me for posting the information. So I can see Ped's points and they are valid. With the FRFR thread I have just stopped reading it although I see that it is a good resource for some. With the DIY Effects thread, I still think it deserves a sub-category.
  12. I made some of these to use my Smoothound wireless transmitter as a body pack but they would also work well with Xvive and Amoon amongst others. The cable uses Sommer Tricone II cable plus a REAN in-line socket and a Sommer Hicon pancake right angkled jake plug. It is 75cm long (2ft6in approx). If you need a different length, cable or connectors, please ask. Postage £2.
  13. I have just realised that the Greg Bennet bass in my profile pic is 24 frets as is my Yamaha 5 string. Let's not mention my Les Paul...
  14. Jazz basses do sound thin to me too. I have an Aerodyne that has both P and J pickups and the J is only used for practice. I should probably buy a P but the Aerodyne has a jazz neck and I love that. I should add that it looks devine.
  15. The power amps in the Quilter and TH500. The TH500 uses the ICEPower 250ASX2 module that outputs 500W into 8R. Slightly more but 50W is neither here or there. Any difference you hear is likely due to the Pre-Amp implementation.
  16. I have not used the Smoothound with my Yamaha 5 yet.
  17. Damn, I thought I came up with that.
  18. I decided to use my Smoothound as a body pack so I made some cables. All were made with 75cm of Tricone MkII cable. They should be OK with other wireless systems but I only have a Smoothound. This one has a REAN Cable Socket on one end and a HiCon (Sommer) right angled connector to connect to the bass. This shows the connectors tucked into my strap together with the SMOOTHOUND.This one shows the REAN back to back connector together with Hicon right angled connector again attached to my strap. The bass end has a Neutrik right angled connector. Finally we have a straight cable connected via the REAN back to back witg the smoothound tucked into the ticket pocket on my jeans.
  19. I have two black basses with chips in the Poly finish. Is there and easy way to repair them?
  20. Good advice.
  21. If the wood is nice, I would use Crimson's Guitar Finishing Oil. Danish is OK I used it on a neck recently but it took months to harden properly and lose its tackyness.
  22. I believe there was a period when RCF made active speakers for Mackie.
