  1. I am sure I have seen a similar shade somewhere Elf but cannot find a Trace of it.🤢
  2. If your band is pumping out lower than 86dB you need to try harder.
  3. Pat has been! Orders now being taken....
  4. Whether you choose a straight mains step down transformer or design a Switch Mode Power Supply with multiple isolated outputs, the transfomers are non standard and hence expensive. However not every output needs to be isolated. For example on my board I have a Zoom B1ON pedal and a Smoothound as well as a Marshall ED1 Compressor (with mods for bass) Plus a Behringer BD-I21. If both the Zoom and Smoothound are connected to the power supply, there is noise. If either is removed and powered by another power supply, the noise is reduced. So two or more isolated banks would cure the problem and that is much easier. However your power requirement would need a transformer of about 100VA and that is both big and weighty unless you apply some sort of contentiion ratio where you assume that not all outputs will be at fullpower al the time.
  5. You are right, I seelcted the wrong ad. Most sellers claim that model to be isolated.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Guitar-Effects-Pedal-Power-Supply-Board-10-Way-Isolated-9V-12V-18V-Output-UKPlug/353170164284?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D228436%26meid%3D0352a74b39c040e79d38ebd2332abcb2%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dpf%26sd%3D402268232124%26itm%3D353170164284%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSimplAMLv5PairwiseWebWithBBEV1Filter%26brand%3DUnbranded&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
  6. The power supplies I was refering to are these. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Caline-Electric-guitar-Effect-Pedal-Board-10-Way-Power-Supply-9V-12V-18V-Output/402268232124?hash=item5da90e19bc:g:u2oAAOSwNbZd4Jgs These, and other similar ones, are not isolated and do not remove the noise carried on the power rails from mone pedal to another. It would be easy to blame the Zoom, Smoothound et al for these problems. However the design of many analogue pedals pays no heed to the need for proper power supply rejection. It is the responsibiluity os a manufacturer to both reduce the interferenxce that their product produces and also to protect their own product from the effects of that interference.
  7. I have read the thread and thought it was relevant considering we were discussing power supplies.
  8. No but it is relevant as we were discussing power supplies.
  9. Yes you have to be sure that you use a true isolated supply. The £25-30 ones around say they are isolated but that is only for protection. The problem occurs with digital pedals and seems worse when two are used such as a Zoom and a Smoothound. Also be aware that the Smoothound uses positive centre in the power. Most pedals use centre negative sadly.
  10. I have bought some of OBBM’s remaining stock including Neutrik Jack and Speakon connectors. and have reasonable stocks of Sommer Cable and HiCon Connectors. so if anyone wants cables made, let me know.
  11. Glad you like them.
  12. Thanks Stevie, now to finish the amp.
  13. Ramsa 2 x 400 Watt stereo or 800W bridged. Unit is 3U high and weighs 13Kg. Output is 240w/channel into 8 ohms, 400w/channel Into 4 ohms and 800w into 8 ohms bridged. It is mounted into an SKB flight case. Cost to post would be about £15. please note that although the picture of the back is of the WP1200, the features and layout are exactly the same.
  14. Not so cheap now but all the competition seem to start at £28 so clos to half price. Are they worth a punt?
  15. I just made this for someone but I got the length wrong. It if 17cm (6 3/4”) long excluding connectors. The connectors are HiCon Right Angled pancake connectors HI-J63MA05. They are low profile, ideal for a pedal board. If you need other sizes, pm me.
  16. Well the cable listed is still unsold but I have sold two bespoke cables on the back of it.
  17. Are these still available?
  18. They are and the mechanical strengh of the connector to cable has to be felt to be believed.
  19. Just revied some Sommer plugs (including Pancake) and cables so if anyone wants cables or to buy connectors, PM me.
  20. This is made from three metres of Sommer Triclone XXl, a very high quality cable plus two straight Tricone XXL Jack Plugs ( HI-J63TC-SM) specially designed for use with this cable. They include a metal clamping system that grips the cable firmly over a large area. This ensures that no matter what the weight/load put upon the cable the connector stays frimly on the cable. Other lengths are available as well as other connectors. PM me for details. Tricone XXL is one of the best cable for use with instruments. The signal conductore is bigger than most ensuring bthat conductor breakages are minimised. This is what Sommer say about the Tricone XXL: The Tricone® XXL has a fat PE foam insulation which is firmly enclosed and held in place by a carbon screen. This will optimise the capacitance and ensure a loss-free treble reproduction even over longer distances. This design and the Cu mesh screen will perfectly protect against external interference. The special LONGLIFE COMPOUND jacket ensures a high tread resistance and tensile strength Advantages: Powerful, clear sound with the transmission of any instrument signals Dual shielding by Cu mesh screen and conductive carbon screen Highly flexible and easy to reel because of its fine single litz design Extremely durable and rugged due to LONGLIFE COMPOUND jacket Application: High-quality guitar lead for stage & studio Unbalanced cable for all string instruments, keyboards, samplers, mixing desks etc. The HI-J63TC-SM jack plug is made for the Tricone XXL cable and when properly assembled it is probably the best jack plug/cable combination there is.
  21. Totally agree, the Orchid is Orsome.
  22. Good point. It was a silly statement really but what I was trying to say was that no amplifier is worth £2000+ to me. Incidently the same applies to basses.
