  1. Yes or buy one from me 🤩
  2. Another lurker here. Enjoying the journey with you both.
  3. I never trust a moulded connector.
  4. I must admit Lee really annoys me. He can really play but i do not want someone who over talks and he is so jolly. No one is that jolly all the time. Nathan is calmer and more measured.
  5. I think they had that either on my Trace. BLX130 or Ashdown Combo of some years ago ( the one down from the ABM)
  6. Although I make and use cables for live playing I use the same Thomann system for soundcheck. It is stated as not suitable for active guitars but my Sire M2 works fine and the fact that it has a built in tuner works well for acoustic guitar on open mic nights.
  7. Probably comes from the time that egg boxes were deemed to have sound absorbing properties.
  8. No, The channel spacing on 2.4GHz has overlapping channels and 2.4GHz is used by Bluetooth and other technologies. The channels on 5.8GHz do not overlap and there is no Bluetooth chatter.
  9. In one sentence you have really added to my knowledge of US geography. I had no idea where Wisconsin was/is although I had a feeling it was central-ish. I did not realise how far north it was, so close to Canuck land. The only downside to Wisconsin for a real ale lover seems to be “what made Milwaukee famous”.
  10. This suggest that a full valve amp is the gold standard. 🤣
  11. If you have enough channels, this is the best way to go, belt and braces.
  12. Also the basis of the early HH MOSFET power amps.
  13. This is a K&M tablet holder, made to K&Ms usual high standard. It is very adjustable and holds the tablet really well. It is built like the proverbial brick outhouse. Pictured here attached to a bass/guitar stand rather than a mic stand but you get the idea. Price includes postage. 14. Well for the second time in a couple of weeks the Singer has baled at the last minute. 3pm for a gig starting at 8.30. Another place that will not book us again?
  15. Yes, those amazing "Tonewoods" he used, Polar, Swamp Ash etc were the native species, readily available in the USA. Nothing special ( and NOT tonewoods). You could argue that that was part of Leo's genius. He was practical and designed things that were easy to make from low cost components.
  16. It would remove one of the really heavy transformers from the amp. Sadly you cannot remove the output transformer but you would make the amp several Kg lighter. Of course if you take out that much weight you will more than half the heft.......
  17. @stevie is a friend, together with @Phil Starr we have collaborated on many projects, discussing various designs over a decade or so. That led to the creation of @stevie 's LFSys. The conversations often covered the tweeter/no tweeter discussions. @stevie always insisted that tha right tweeter/horn combination, tuned for dispersion is the way forward and he eventually won both me and @Phil Starr over. Whether you go FRFR withe a decent PA top or a well designed cabinet, dispersion is the key to hearing yourself and being heard. So whether you keep you bass amp and add a good cabinet or go FRFR, you will really notice the difference.
  18. My CQ20 replaced a Soundcraft Ui16, I got that originally as we had an open air booking that paid a lot and 4 vocals, two guitars, bass and drums meant I needed the 12 mic/line inputs. We did one gig where the support band was a six piece with sax and keys. I was looking at the Ui24 but there has been little support for that range since Samsung took over Harmon, Soundcraft's parent.
  19. Sorry I should have let you know that I got caught out by this. I also turn off the auto-gain feature once set.
  20. Oh yes, love Skynyrd but those two songs…. no. Sweet Home Alabama is in our set and I hate it. I never feel the band is tight on it and there are several much better LS songs.
