    The main issue with SpeakOns is that a 4way plug cannot mate with a 2 pin socket. The cable should be OK as said by others as long as it is copper. There are some far eastern cables that use CCAW, Copper Covered Aluminium Wire. I am sure Thomann would not sell you a pup but it is expensive if you just buy this with the £10 shipping.

    That measures the DC resistance. Impedance includes the AC properties of the speaker or speaker/crossover combination.The impedance will be higher than the DC resistance because you have to add the inductive reactance to that to obtain the impedance and that is frequency dependant.

    I would be doing the FrankenP mods (click on the link for YouTube video) that allow the mids to be scooped or unscooped. He also shows another mod/switch to change the gain/bandpass filter.

    Those Amazon systems do not state the frequency band used just saying Sub G and UHF. Realistically this means from about 450 MHz to 1 Gigahertz. it probably means that there were produced for the US bands licensed for Wireless audio. These bands do not coincide with UK licensed bands and are, as @tauzero says, are illegal. This is true of most of the UHF systems from China, available from AliExpress and sometimes Amazon/Ebay.

    I asked Antex about the recommended temperature for Lead free solder and they say 400 C. One thing that is important is to use the correct sized bit. My Antex rework station has a 50W iron and with the correct sized bit, there is nothing I have failed to solder since I have had it. I have 6mm, 4.7mm, 3mm and 2.4mm.

    It is all about opinion and I believe that you amp/cab choice is a part of your instrument, like the body of an acoustic guitar. There is no right or wrong. I don't like the sound of the MB cabs I have heard but that does not make me right and you (and thousands of satisfied MB users) wrong. Enjoy your new cabs.

    I was going to offer to do the mod for people, for a drinking voucher or two, but it was too expensive when you consider the pedal price. Mind you I have not done my own yet....🤣

    This does have a tuner built in, from the HB website "Integrated chromatic tuner with easy-to-read LCD display" however its not a patch on the tuner in my zoom pedals, not easy to see, however it has plenty of power for other pedals.

    I followed the same path had the Monaco and traded that for a Monza. Nice and light but I use mine for backline and is is more than man enough for any gig I have done with either of my bands. One of my bands asked where the rest of my rig was when I first turned up with the Monaco, Of course I had to turn up to 5.5 (half way to 11) and was very loudly asked to turn it down. Nothing was said when I changed to the 10" Monza.

    Yes, reducing the speed reduces both vibration and air turbulence, although air turbulence at the hearsink or main areas of heat generation, can help. If you reduce the speed, increasing the fan size makes up for the loss of airflow.

    Noctua are one of the companies that claim low noise but only achieve the headline figure by reducing the fan voltage/speed. That does no mean that they are no good just that you should fit the noise reduction cable advisedly.

    I did some research on this a few years ago and the so-called quiet fans all run at reduced voltage and therefore run slower, moving less air (something us bassists should resist). Lower airflow means less cooling effect. I am sure @agedhorse can shine more light on this but in general, higher fan speed means more noise, that is air-turbulence noise. The other noise is from vibration which, if I am not mistaken, comes from unbalanced fan blades. This can be amplified by the design of the enclosure and, as an enclosure redesign is out of the question, the only answer is isolation. That is using some sort of shock absorbing mount rather than screws. With the Elf, I rather suspect that the room inside is limited so the scope for change will be small.

    I think you have to keep in mind that there are different voicings on Barefaced cabs, the 10s are more old school, ie boosted at 100-150Hz and some have tweeters, some do not. There is some discussion about how well BF implement the crossover/HF driver combination. So even without the different bass drivers, there are at least three different Barefaced sounds. That being said, they are extremely well built and lightweight although, as with GR cabs, the thin lightweight materials used in the construction arguably suffer from more resonances than more substantial materials. I suggest you talk to Alex at BF and chat with @stevie at LFSys. They are both knowledgeable and will probably give better advice, even than the esteemed Basschat cohort. Remember we a have our prejudices (yes even me 😇).

    I can understand the need to balance the guitars, I have an over-loud rhythm guitar blasting my right ear, however it is balance I need. As fo stereo on the keys, no one else can hear the stereo effect properly FoH so why use it? Incidentally, if your left hand ever goes left of centre on the keys, you will be reported to the moderators.

    Stereo IEMs? I can’t hear the band in stereo with back line and neither can the audience. Surely if the mix is clear and balanced, mono should be more than adequate? In my own case, I have 5 players and 6 Aux busses. To go stereo as well as as going wireless, and do it properly £4 grand approx? That is about what we wi earn this year in total.

    With the CQ being the most recent A&H digital mixer, many A&H Qu and SQ users are hoping for some of the CQ technology to be introduced into the MK2 versions of those consoles.

    I have had a detailed listen again with my bestist headphones wired (they are either wired or Bluetooth). First listening was on BT and that limits the LF slightly.. So have I changed my mind?Yes and no. There is no doubt that the sub on the floor for both the EVOX and the ART 310s caused a boominess and you can hear that even when @Phil Starr was speaking. Despite our unscientific attempts at equalising the volume, I think the ART 745s were louder. This will give them an unfair advantage as we like louder. Also the stands meant that the lower end of the ART745s was not so low or so boomy. The EVOX is better than any of the other "stick" systems that I have heard but I still preferred the ART 745s for it's mid-range (we do need a short name that is not derogatory for these systems*). Of course the extra volume of the ART745s might be masking that. I should add that these comments are based on the YouTube sound. I will go back and listen to the original soon. I would really like to do the excercise again with under more controlled conditions.

    The CQ18 has a lot of TRS outputs, one other reason went for the CQ20.
