Ground lift to cancel humming - how does that work?
Chienmortbb replied to bassbiscuits's topic in Amps and Cabs
In my humble opinion, there is no real need to have the earth/ground connected on a signal feed. It is not a safety issue, and you are far more likely to have no trouble with the ground lifted. Many DI boxes have the ground lifted by default. -
To be honest, if you are only putting vocals through the PA you should be fine. Those at the bar are only there for the drinking.

Yes, I have just started doing this, and I find it really helps specially when singing BVs

Price includes postage. Made for a fellow basschater's guitarist friend that decided he wanted to use with a Stratocaster. Fitted with a Neutrik/Rean Tiny XLR at one end and a Neutrik/Rean Pancake Jack at the other. The cable is Van Damme Pro Patch and the length from the end of each connector is 57cm/22.5inches. The cable has been tested and is working. If you want a straight or right-angled jack, please add £3.

Been there, done that and I share your frustration.

Compact mixing desks - what are you using?
Chienmortbb replied to Al Krow's topic in PA set up and use
I had a response from A&H "The CQ does not have groups (presuming mix groups) by design, adding them would require a fundamental redesign, which we have no plans for. There are also no current plans to add mute groups to the CQ series, though there have been suggestions for mute groups in the digital community. (https://community.allen-heath.com/forums/topic/please-add-mute-groups-feature) This is where we look to when prioritising potential new features, to try and ensure we're satisfying as many users as possible with any new release, and is the best place to add your voice if this is something that you'd really need in the CQ." A bit disappointing really, they really should have looked at what was on the competition when designing these. So now I need to look at the pros and cons of the CQ20 v the Ui24r and whether I would miss groups or mix groups as A&H call them. -
Vocal Microphones, what are you using?

Sontronics do have the advantage for me that they are made in Poole and I can pop round for a cup of tea. Their support is second to none, both pre- and post-sale. -
Compact mixing desks - what are you using?
Chienmortbb replied to Al Krow's topic in PA set up and use
I have the Ui16, The mic preamps are supposed to be inferior to the UI 24, and I like the idea of recording gigs as single tracks, It looks like the UI24 is what I need, but the lack of updates from Soundcraft/Harmon/Samsung worry me. A & H seems to be racing ahead, but as I said before, the mute groups and groups are standard on other mixers in this class. -

I downloaded the Windows app and although it is supposedly an upgrade, still no groups or mute groups that I can find. Have you heard anything about these features being added? I am very tempted as I was going to a Soundcraft Ui24 for the recording facilities and also the matrix facility on the Ui24 is interesting. As you can see, I am holding off for now. -

He deserves nothing more! -
I did video the shutout across two devices, and have not yet had the chance to look at/hear them. I know from my own gigging experience that the Bugera and Ashdown Amps I use (both class D) have way more power than I would ever need. Likewise, I suspect that the three mini amps on show would more than adequate for most of my gigs. Of the three, the initial set up of the Elf was the most pleasing it had that mid-scoop that always sounds great on its own, but the Gnome and BAM were eminently usable with a few tweaks of the tone controls. If someone slipped any of them into my gig bag, I would be happy. AS for the other amps on show, I will comment more when I post the videos, although of the bigger amps, I thought the Ashdown Valve head sounded lovely as did the old Trace A/B Mk6. @scrumpymike 's SVT was also very nice.

Seems you have hopefully solved your problem, I was going to suggest thec Behringer Xenyx 1002B. If has an FX oit as Well as a Monitor out in addition to the Mai output, will work on batteries too. Sadly it has just been discontinued.

My Dad beat you all to it anyway. He came to London in the late 40s. Luckily, my mum was from London, so the tainted blood was diluted in me. Occasional;u a Why aye man slips out or whees ya gannin.

Wow, good job they cancelled HS2. However, that was to keep the Pict,s Scots and various northerners out. Now building Sunak's wall at Watford Gap.

I will Still be packed from tonight's gig so will have gazillions, well three or four anyway.

I think there will be a few Bugeras there, so give your arms a rest.

What a fine, upstanding fellow you are. Best wishes to MrsAndyjr1515. There is COVID on both sides of our family, so be careful out there and if possible take a test before stepping onto your private jet or helicopter.

If you don't mind the shipping cost to outer Mongolia, or Dorset if you prefer, I will have a look at it for you.

There are some that will attempt to repair Class D and SMPS. However, naughty Behringer do not publish their service info. The service agents in the UK are quite helpful within the limits of their contract with Music Tribe. I have the guts of @Phil Starr's blown Behringer, and it was that amp, not the power supply, that was faulty. Sadly, the amp was a class D Chip, now fully obsolete. To be fair it was very well put together.

You are excused. Its just that my other half always says, "You have another toy from Thomann/Andertons/Gear4Music" (delete as applicable).

Toy?

Well, using Motley Crue as brand ambassadors? I am speechless.
