Yup, Washing mashing plus Tumble Dryer on a Double Socket? On high heat and a cotton wash, that is crazy. I had a lead with a charger that was moulded, and the plug top had no fuse.
-
I should have read your post before posting myself. However it is only the cable and connection point that passes the current. The socket will only pass what is being drawn by appliances attached to it. One other word of caution. Many Far Eastern imports come with IEC C14 (kettle) connectors but are fitted with 5A cable. That’s barely enough for an 800W amp.

Of course, we do or, more correctly, we fit circuit breakers to each ring circuit. For a normal wall socket ring main circuit, it is 32A. All plugs (plug top to our sparks friends) have fuses rated at 250V AC and a current that will protect the lead/cable/cable cord. It will be as low as possible. Never try to out guess the manufacturer. They rate onboard fuses at a rating that will allow for normal operation of the unit.

When I started as a guitard, many decades ago, I had a 30 watt 2x12 Selmer Combo. Same size as an AC30, it was great, although the faux crocodile skin covering was as tatty as hell. I re-covered it in bright red vinyl. I realise it was a crime, but I knew no better.

I have a box taunting me labelled BDI21 Mod Kits. I will do this mod one day.

You have to make the choices that work for you. Had we not had the annual open air gig (June 21st), I might have made a different choice.

Agreed, Glynn John sorted that years ago.

This was the reason I went for the Soundcraft. I can do four vocal mics, two guitars, bass plus 5 channels for drums. We were about to do an outdoor event with a serious PA supplied by a DJ. I had to mix all the above and feed it into the L/R unbalanced inputs on a Pioneer D/J mixer (I ran balanced to just before the Pioneer then used two Sowter line transformers to convert to unbalanced at the Pioneer).
-
I did look at the M18 and @Phil Starr has one (he is a secret RCF fanboi). When I bought the Ui16, I needed more mic inputs than the M18 offered, 12 rather than 8. I was worried about the fact that the Ui had fewer Aux outs, but then I found the menu where you could reassign the Headphone out socket as Aux 5/6. That being said, the M18 would be my choice if I could get away with fewer mic inputs. To me, the big thing was the User Interface. Having just to use a web browser instead of an app was the other big thing for me.

When we did cab shoot-outs at the Big South West Bass Bash, MB came top one year and bottom the next. What that means, I could not tell you.
-
The Headphone out can be reassigned to Aux 5 and 6 is you want. The design of the Ui series is such that it can be used as a stage box, as it is only 100mm/4" deep. Also, you can unscrew the rack mount ears. So that makes it much smaller. The downside is that it uses a brick power supply. It is a locking connector however and and can be velcro'd to the side of the unit.

On a serious note, I find Rettelec to be a good source of bags.

How many grenades does that hold?

Where to get good quality speaker cables?

The customer is always right! -
You have an RTA function that allows you to see how the system is set up in the room. I am on my phone at the moment so cannot access all features. I BBC will send more info later.

IF you want to see the Soundcraft interface, go here https://www.soundcraft.com/products/ui16 It is a real time simulation of the interface and I often use it when I want to find out how to do something without getting the mixer out.
-
The good thing about Mixing Station is that it works across all the main makes, and if you are a freelance sound tech, you use just one interface whatever desk is supplied.

Where to get good quality speaker cables?
Chienmortbb replied to Linus27's topic in Accessories and Misc
Yes, that works, but these cables involved Jacks and soldering a heavy-duty speaker cable to a jack plug takes a heavy-duty soldering iron. I also agree that SpeakONs are the way to go, but if your amp or cab only has jacks, you have no choice. -
This is one of the reasons I got the Soundcraft Ui16. It has an onboard web server, so you do not need an App. Just a browser, so OS updates do not matter.

Where to get good quality speaker cables?
Chienmortbb replied to Linus27's topic in Accessories and Misc
I have just made @linus27 some cables and am about to send them. I have always said that the cable does not matter for speakers and I have used mains cable before. I still believe that for HiFi but I made these from my new reel of Sommer Meridian Mobile. Compared to most other speaker cables, the Meridian Mobile has many more strands, almost twice as many as any other make, and a lower resistance. However, the main thing I like with this cable is that yes it’s tough but it’s also very flexible. It feels like a quality product, especially once the cable is made up. So I won’t be changing my hi-fi cables any time soon but will only be using Meridian Mobile Cable for new builds. -
It definitely looks like an ICEPower but I suspect one of the newer AS series. Tge picture show sone control so possible powers cab?

I think they have been made under licence by both Sung Il and Gotoh. JHS in Leeds are the UK distributor, but they do not carry all the ranges. I bought some WJB650BK https://www.jhs.co.uk/collections/wilkinson/products/wilkinson-bass-machineheads-2-2-black from a retailer suggested by JHS. They were about £40 from memory in 2017/18. They were in retail packaging too, not loose in a box or bag. Today, as then, you can get them on eBay for under £30 https://tinyurl.com/2bvuajfc Buying from an Authorised outlet, I knew I was getting genuine Wilkinson machine heads. Since then Gotoh's GB707 have come down in price and would be a better bet https://tinyurl.com/29z76d7b Tpouchstone Tonewoods but directly from Gotoh and have done special orders for me in the past.

I understand your chagrin, it is perhaps a sign that the Apple platforms are better for audio, even though this app is just a User Interface for the B2 Four. This was why I bought it. It has better connectivity than some more expensive units, including the Helix Stomp. Although I have a decent DI on my amp, If I ever have a decent PA, I can just take the B2 Four and leave my separate DI at home. On another matter, many of the effects are the same, or at least called the same, as those on the B1 Four. However, there are extra blend controls on one that I found. I have ported one of @JohnDaBass's Free/Bad Company patches from the B1 Four thread and will do some sound samples soon. I also find this to be extremely quiet except on some extreme patches.

All the Beatles recordings, Just the Bass

Shows what I have always said. A good song sounds good in (almost) any genre/style. -

I will listen with interest. Macca has IMHO some of the best and blandest bass lines but the way the earlier stuff was recorded makes it hard to hear.
