  1. I should have said that GuitarTapp has many features including Tab import, transpose, scroll and set lists as well as set list sharing. So to describe it as Set List Software was not good.
  2. That is the tablet holder I use anyway. I will check it out.
  3. Like Phil, I have seen and heard various iterations of these cabs and have been astonished how much difference the properly designed crossover, horn and compression driver make. The cost of these components alone is probably higher than the drivers in many other cabinets. As @stevieknows, despite having a Silverstone, I am wrestling with the thought of a Monaco after gigging one a few weeks ago. If someone had said to me when I joined Basschat, that I would think of buying an £800 cabinet, I would have booked them an extended holiday in Broadmoor.
  4. Yes, as a battery depletes, its internal resistance rises. Correct, I used to align CRT TV monitors, the kind used in TV studios. We would often get a 1.5Kv (1500 volt) shock from part of the line output circuit. I hurt, drilled a small hole in your finger and gave your nervous system a kick up the ..... (insert slang or expletive to your taste). Although it was 1500V, it was a very short duration pulse and there waa very little curret, around 1mA or 1/1000th of an amp. Funnily enough, the jolt to the nervous system meant you felt more alive for the rest of the day. However one word of caution. If you put your hand into a valve amp, put the other hand in your pocket. Do not make a circuit with your heart in the middle. Oh, yes. Bleeder resistors are useful and will discharge the cap after switch off, but they are a compromise.
  5. It is the current. Current is measured in amperes.
  6. Veyron, the amp Genz Benz should have made?
  7. He knows his stuff does our @stevie
  8. Yes what with two/three sets plus spares for each set and a number of spares “just in case”, I reckon we are at over 100 and some we rarely play.
  9. I used to work for Panasonic. At that time we were the best in consumer electronics with a fault ratio in the first year of well under 1%. At that time all other CE companies inc. Sony etc were over 1%. Now it does not matter whether the failure or fault ration was 0.01%, if you own one of the faulty ones, your failure rate is 100%. As together Bugera, I have not yet even tried my 2nd one so will do so and report back.
  10. Me too.
  11. Thanks I will check it.
  12. I have been using GuitarTapp for some years, and it has served me well, but there have been no updates since 2018. Some features do not seem to work any more, so I was wondering what others use?
  13. I’m think it would be worth persevering to find out what the problem was. The Elf is a simple amp. Not really much you can get wrong. The Veyron has lots of lovely knobs and switches but that means more you can get wrong OR more to go wrong, To be fair, mine has not missed a beat except for a few crackles when the volume control was moved in the early days. Otherwise it has been ultra reliable.
  14. Exactly that.
  15. I quite agree, any of my recommendations are my own views and while I will defend them to the hilt. I saw a band once where the bassist used a PJB cab, I spoke to him afterwards, and he was raving about it, It would not work for me, but it worked for him.
  16. I have the Silverstone and have tried the Monaco a few weeks ago on a gig. Everything you say is in line with what I found. I am very happy with my Silverstone, and it does have that ability to be heard everywhere on stage, as well as out front and at my 6ft high ears. In fact I was asked to turn up the first time I used it by the band as the FoH volume was too low when I set it at my usual stage level. The Monaco was similar, but seemed to have more control at the lower end. I now back off the bass control a tad on my amp with the Silverstone to make it sound more like the Monaco. There is a cost and weight penalty with the Monaco, but it truly is a one cab solution as far as I am concerned. I am very tempted....
  17. I have an empty MK3 cabinet that I need to move on. I have set a price initially of £300 as I cannot post without a price, but I will amend that later when I have worked out a sensible (to me) cost. It has served me well for several years, but I now have one of @stevie's LFSys Silverstone. The BC112 has no drivers, but it does have The crossover and all connecting cables. The PH170 horn, A punched aluminium grille. Includes Logo The Handle. Includes Logo It just needs a Faital Pro 12PR320 12" driver and a Celestion CDX1-1425 compression driver, but only needs a crosshead screwdriver and possibly an Allen key to install the drivers and grille.

  18. Yes. I have someone else interested that has first dibs, but will start the for sale thread soon so as not to clog this one up.
  19. I have an empty MK3 cabinet that I need to move on. It has served me well for several years, but I now have one of @stevie's LFSys Silverstone. I will put it up for sale in the Amps and Cabs for sale shortly. It has no drivers, but it does have the crossover and the PH170 horn, as well as a punched aluminium grille. It just needs a Faital Pro 12PR320 12" driver and a Celestion CDX1-1425 compression driver. I will post a link to it as soon as it is up on the for sale area.
  20. I am sure @steviewill respond, but the main point is that you would normally need to cross over at a lower frequency than for a 12". That may mean a better horn and/or compression driver.
  21. I think the active inputs are there for older active basses that had vert high outputs, Most modern active basses have a gain/output similar to passive basses. I have a Marcus Miller and with the active tone controls flat, the volume is that same as when it is switched to passive.
  22. That is definitely a Matsumoku.
  23. Yes welcome Vasco.
  24. Most of the non Fender basses that came out of the "Fender Japan" factories featured Gotoh hardware, Ironically the Fender branded MIJ and CIJ ones were often fitted with inferior alternatives. As an aside, I would always fit Gotoh Hardware, especially Machine Heads, to my basses. I have only fitted Hipshot once, and they are a slight disappointment.
  25. Many prefer the Tokai Hard Punchers to the real thing.
