It seems OK for boutique manufacturers to copy other designs but with Behringer it is not. So I have a BD-I21, the concept is tha same as a Tech21 model but is it a copy? I don't think so . I have a Behringer mixer, it has innovations that others don't even though it is 18 years old. I have a Bugera Amp. Visual clues and voicing from other makes but IMHO far better built that the US amps they "copy". I also have a TCHelicon Mic Mechanic from the same group. Now my beef with Music Tribe (Behringer's parent) is the same one as with Mark Bass. No service information unless you are an authorised service centre. This menas that your local amp tech cannot get the information required to service the equipment. I must admit that EMS. the servcie centre for Behringer in the UK are reasonable in their charges but I like to repair my own equipment.

Silicon in a valve head? Blasphemy. Actually while we can argue the merits of the soiund of an all valve head, it is beyond doubt that solid state rectifiers are the best.

I forgot MPH lol, However if you go to the hospital they weigh you in Kg and g. You buy your food in grams and kilograms. Your beer is between 3 and 6% alcohol add a few other ingredient and the water content is between 90 and 95%. The cost of beer in pubs is high becuse of the greed of the goverment (the Beer Levy) and greedy breweries/pubcos. We still qoute the economy of cars in MPG yet buy our fuel in Litres. Four legs good, two legs bad. Sorry for derailing the thread. I'm off now.🤘

I had too much mud in rehearsals yesterday so I tried a patch on the Zoom B1-4. Some time ago i cretaed a patch with two series high pass filters. I understand that these have a rolloff at 12dB per octave. Each had a -3dB point at 35Hz. So the result was an HPF with a -6dB point at 35Hz. The result was that the mud dissapeared and all was well.

I do love the sound of both amps and like Trace those HH watts were very conservatively rated. Oh and the VS still has that loverly Chernobyl glow. -
Price is each. These are two working HH Bassamps, both working but have had some parts replaced. Rated at 100 watts rack but both sound a lot louder. the silver amp has a cracked panel, I have a new one (when I find it). Sadly the knobs for that one were missing when I bought it. A multi channel effects unit that includes pedal and tuner plus midi USB cables for computer control of effects. None at all. Phil's philosophy is to use battens so that is is a simple build for those with basic tools. Using dowels should be OK but be careful that you use enough adhesive to make an airtight seal.

Well they can but most of the current moulded cabinets are a compromise, and in general, the lower the cost the higher the compromise. To make a moulded cab as strong and non resonant as a well designed wooden cabinet means a great deal of expense and a lot of engineering. Look at the amount of bracing you can see externally on these. However every cabinet is a compromise and some moulded cabinets work well. Incidently these weigh 17Kgs as a passive cabinet and cost about £500 new.

The original design used a Beyma SM212 12" driver together with a Celestion CDX1-1445 compression driver mounted on a P-Audio PH170 Horn. Sadly the SM212 is now discontinued. The closest replacement is the Beyma 12CVM2, that is the driver in the picture but that one has sold separately. The original crossover should work reasonably well and that is shown HERE. The alternative is to use the later design using then Faital Pro PR320 12" Driver plus the Celestion CDX!-1415 compression driver and the PH170 horn. The crossover for that is shown HERE. The cabinet is sligtly shorter than the later one using the PR320, by 3cm. This will reduce the cab volume slightly meaning a small reduction in the absolute low end and possibly a small increase in sound level in the low mids. I have gigged this cab with only the 12CVM2 driver.
