  1. It was a light hearted comment that started the thread but some serious points have come out. Not least that religious organisations are not covered by the same laws and rules that the rest of us do. I won't go on but so many of the bad things that go on in the world start with religion and I could not be the hypocrite to play in a worship band.
  2. I wonder if that was the one that was stolen from our rehearsal space 50 years ago.
  3. Of course being a total PED, Fender Japan was a ghost company for a number of Japanese factories. So buying a Japanese Fender is not really buying a Fender. In my opinion you could do worse than try a G&L.
  4. It seems to me that the main areas of gigging these days is with worship bands. Do all the musicians "believe"?
  5. Its Ok for you, we did not have gold stars at our school. This is the first time I have got a gold star.
  6. If you look elsewhere you will find GR disciples everywhere on the Amps and Cabs forum.
  7. Just innxase anyone is looking to build this, I have two of the 12CVM2 drivers for sale at £40 they have both had between 50-60 hours use. Reasomfor sale? Downsizing.
  8. I have never bought from them but the attitude of one member of staff was not what I expect and made me question their "advice".
  9. I agree about the esoteric caps.
  10. Cost and performance wise the CVM2 range are excellent and I have two of the 12" 12CVM2 drivers for sale on here at the moment. In my opinion modelling Celestion Drivers perform better than they model. Without the ability to measure the response you are better sticking with @stevie's design.
  11. I find Mark Bass's use of colour (struggles for adjective) interesting. It proves that the rods and the cones in my eyes are still working but....... When you consider the style that has come out of Italy, you have to hope that the performance and reliability makes up for the visual onslaught. If you want to see how to use Orange tastefully, see Orange. On a more serious note, I have a Little Mark Tube in for repair. I cannot get any service information from them at all. Ashdown, Marshall, Peavey all great for help in servicing. Behringer are like Mark Bass, really hard to get help although their build quality is superb.
  12. To be fair that is a silly remark. I would not buy from BD and I prefer to make my own cabs.
  13. A Yamaha bass guitar in black. The body is full gloss has some dings as does the back of the neck. The neck is Matt Black and easy to play. Plays well and truss rod is easily accessible at the bass of the neck with a standard Allen Key. It will be well packed in a twin skinned box an bubbly wrap. Postage and packing £10 or collect from Poole, Dorset. Add £5 and you can have the stand too.
  14. Beyma 12CVM2 driver suitable for use in @Phil Starr’s easy 30L cab build. A very similar driver to the Beyma SM212 but built on a pressed steel chassis rather than the cast aluminium of the SM212. Also works Well in @stevie‘s BC112 cabinet as if you don’t use the teeter and crossover.

  16. If it were a P Bass I wouild say Crimson, alternatively for a jazz, WD Music or Northwest Guitars.
  17. I don't know about the switching. The pickups may have been stock as Matsumoku pickups were very similar to DiMarzio aesthetically.
  18. Still no paid gigs on the horizon for us.
  19. I am sure that is by the Matsumoku company in japan, better known for Westone and the early Aria's. The shape is the Westone thunder shape and both the pickups and the brass bridge look like those fitted to the Westone/Aria basses.
  20. My first was a Squire Precision in CAR. It was a very good guitar and as I bought it SH in the mid 90s, I am not sure where it was made or how valuable it would be now. I sold it to buy a Thunder 1A. Wish I had not sold either.
  21. My local store, Absolute Music set up all the instruments on display. If a new instrument comes in it has a label saying that it is new in and yet to be set up by the in-store techs.
