  1. Oh yes. I immediately turned the gain down as I was testing the rig, I did not get a chance to investigate where the dirt came in or how subtle it could be. Make no mistake this is a super amp.
  2. I got mine out the other day for the first time in a while and some how the gain switch had gone to 11. I thought something had broken. Strangely I had never had it passed halfway. It was a shock as I had only heard it clean. I have had mine for about 3 years too and no problems, Except then noisy fan.
  3. I had a little time so I redrew the crossover on the computer. It is not perfect but it is clearer.
  4. There is also the possibilty that your amp has two power amps, each feeding one of the speaker sockets. In that case it would be inadvisable.
  5. Sorry, it looks like a volute under the QC label .
  6. Thankfully I don't need Stereo Out from any effect excpet direct from the Aux input. It is amazing how much of a track you can lose if only running one side of a stereo mix. Stereo effects in a live setting is not only a waste of time but can, and will, cause some effects to change depending on room acoustics.
  7. The lightning connector has headphone out, You just need a Lightning to 3.5mm TRS. https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/product/MMX62ZM/A/lightning-to-35mm-headphone-jack-adapter This link is to thr Apple one but there are other makes.
  8. Reply deleted as @Al Krow said it much better.
  9. My Mac is 14 years old, no longer updated and still it stumbles on. I stilL prefer it to my new Dell Windows PC. As I understand it a Chromebook is a Google rework of Linux, as is Android. You should be able to run the software under WINE, a Linux Windows emulator. If you Mac limps on, PlayOnMac is a programme that uses wine Ona Mac to use many Windows programmes although not all will work. I don’t know about the iPad.
  10. It is a well known issue on Les paul and SG guitars and Gibson could have cured it years ago by adding a volute on the rear of the neck, approx below the nut. A volute is a lump of wood strengthening neck where the fingerboard ends and the headstock starts. Of course the JC DOES have a volute so worry no more. I cannot see whether the neck has a scarf joint that wouild strengthen it even more from the picture though. Epipone 1-0 Gibson. .
  11. Jack's sister. Her real name is Alice but everyone knows her as Slack.
  12. There are noi dumb questions, just dumb answers.
  13. Looks like Line 6 have just launched a new POD. POD GO webpage. Any thoughts From Helix owners?
  14. I don’t seem to have a problem with that although it’s so long since I played live, my memory may be faulty.
  15. My brain is working today and a thought has just come to me ( yes I did make a note in my diary). If a modelling multi effects unit claims to model a pedal exactly, should it add the noise inherent in that pedal?
  16. Yup you got me. I must admit I don’t use that much dirt so perhaps that is why I don’t notice it. One of the things I like about it is the tuner. Very fast settling and seemingly very accurate. I must check it against the Peterson App on my phone. When you consider how much a GOOD tuner costs it is amazing.
  17. i have used both softwares and they worked first time for me.
  18. G strings are often the least bendable wouild 50-100 be a good move?
  19. My mistake. However the main thing is that compressor, no compressor, valve or solid state. If it works for you, its good.
  20. I was refering to the inbuilt compression of a valve output stage. Of course it depends how hard you drive it.
  21. How much is that due to your amp? As I remember you use a Handbox and, at voloume you may get a certain amount of compresion from the power amp.
  22. One of the things that put me off multi-effects was that all those I had used were a little noisy. I have the B1-ON and that is OK but getting the B1-Four was a revelation. Fewer patches than both the B1-On and B3 but then how many patches do you need?
  23. As I play mainly Bass and Acoustic Guitar, I was tempted by Asdown's recent offer on the Acoustic Pre Amp pedal. As it doubles up as a DI, at £40ish it was too tempting especially as the blurb says it is good for bass too. It is arrives Monday so I will let you know how I get on.
